I’m on holiday in turkey and there’s a guy that goes around in roller skates taking orders for drinks and handing out ice lollies. I could easygo and order this myself, but it makes me happy when the guy comes round in his roller skates. What are the little things in life that make you happy.

Amarone in George Street was the venue for my niece's graduation dinner. I wasn't overly impressed, then again I never really expected to be if I'm honest. Lows were; Nine out of the ten mains being served together, the tenth person was told "we haven't forgot you,it's just not ready yet" It...
I love useless facts and information, let's hear everyone's. I will start with a couple Antartica is the biggest desert in the world The day on Venus is longer than the year.
18 months since Pet Peeves III. The fitba' season's over so here's PP-IV prescribed as a wee bit therapy for us moaners until the new season starts. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hate when temporary roadwork signs are left up when they are not...

Some guy just said to me. “Where did that rain come from” It came from the clouds in the sky. Old people always say “old age doesn’t come itself or don’t get old son” what does that even mean?
always had a soft spot for, I guess what you would call educational(?), jokes. Jokes to do with maths and the likes. best two I've heard recently My dad once told me i had a lot of potential, right before he pushed me off the balcony. & (not so much a joke, but I like it)
What is it with the cost of black cab taxi’s in Edinburgh nowadays? I just got one from the High street to Blackford and it cost eleven quid! That was with a bare minimum tip as the driver didn’t take cards. I’ve been in Glasgow a bit recently and Black cab taxi’s seem to be far cheaper....
At the request of Alfiembra, here's the Driving Pet Peeve thread for frustrated motorists. So, to kick it off....... When you are just about to get into your car in a car park some Dumbo decides to draw in tight alongside your driver's door despite there being empty spaces everywhere around....
Shocking news of his passing this morning. One of my food heroes when I first entered the trade.
Looks like I’ve managed to bag tickets. Never been before (done IOW, TITP before). Anyone able to offer any tips or advice? Not too excited about the rumoured acts so far but expecting a lot for their 50th.
Anyone know when these being paid? Dad got his this time last year but no sign yet...
Anybody any experience of telematics workings? All scores 80%+ except acceleration which was 9%. Is this a fault with my driving or is their system set up wrong? Asked the person who gave me the report for an explanation of how the score is arrived at but all I got was a blank look. Other drivers...
Just watched a film thinking throughout the female lead was thandie newton. Then the credits cane up...zoe saldana. Are those 2 related? Identical!!😲😲
Coldplay are not going to tour to promote their album, to protect the environment. Why not go further and not record albums at all? (Ironically, Chris Martin is telling us this from somewhere in Jordan. Man is an utter space cadet.)
I've gone a wee while without listening to much in the way of new music, but there's been a spate of album releases I've wanted to check out lately for one reason or another and I've been pleasantly surprised. Babel - Mumford and Sons: Develops their sound from Sigh No More and really cements...
Programme on now about him. Fascinating how he thought up the World Wide Web and the problems he had setting it up. I always thought it was just a natural progression, but it absolutely wasn’t. What a genius he was.
Watching it on tv now and it’s both heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. Seeing all these children battling with adversity and not only dealing with, but being so brave at the same time has I have to admit reduced me to tears at times. Also all the people who have worked tirelessly to help...
Seeing as we have one for restaurants, it would be interesting/potentially funny to hear about people's best (and, let's face it, worst) experiences in hotels seeing as so many of us stay in them for our holidays/short breaks etc. For me, living in Switzerland, unless you want to donate an organ...
I was wondering if there was any old techno music fans amongst us. I spent a huge part of the 90s in clubs and all nighters like rezerection. If so give us some of your favourite tunes. I’ll start. https://youtu.be/fxym7aNqVYU not my favourite song, but one I just remembered.
I have lost my main front door entry into building key fob. My wife has hers but its a pain with City building telling me 2 weeks to get somebody out. Do any of you know if these can be duplicated? It looks like Picture:
Just read this article, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50187528 and it does raise the question - What can you do if someone refuses to move from a seat you have reserved? Thankfully I have never had this issue, or if I have the person has moved. I have sat in a seat I know was reserved from a...
We have a 4 month old rescue dog arriving on Saturday. I've read up a fair bit, bought pretty much everything we could need. Looking for any tips or advice from both seasoned dog owners and anyone who has had a rescue dog before. This one is 57 varieties but clearly has either whippet or lurcher...
Does anyone know where the best place is to get a motorcycle helmet fitted? In particular one that would offer gift vouchers. Looking to give the vouchers as a gift so he can go and choose for himself. Anywhere in Edinburgh, Fife or Perth would be grand. Many thanks in advance!
Taking the laddie to a thing at the hydro on thursday, checked the multi story opposite and its £11 for the time we are there, is there anywhere nearby that's cheaper?
Anybody know of home brewing clubs in Edinburgh? Ideally, I'm looking for a place where I can do the whole process, as I am limited for space in the house.
Apologies if already covered, stumbled across his chats on youtube a while back and have quite enjoyed them, TC Campbell, Paul Ferris, Jason Marriner (that was quite funny) last night I watched two of the Luke Mitchell ones, quite thought provoking, certainly pricked my ears up listening to his...
Taking my much better half off to to Seville for a weekend break at the end of September. Love travelling and had a few really good City breaks Prague Paris and Helsinki come immediately to mind (with a good few others worthy of a mention in dispatches). Any favourite breaks and...
Was on the North Berwick to Edinburgh train the other night when the onboard announcement stated it was stopping at Abbeyhill Junction. It then came to a stop near Abbeyhill for a few minutes then left for Edinburgh. Is this going to be a new stop for the new Meadowbank? Can't see anything...
Has anyone been? I’ve always fancied going and I’m thinking of heading through with the wee one tomorrow.
How many have kids still moaning about this black hole, mine has been complaining about it since last night
I don't sleep particularly well (which is why I'm glad I found the acronym thread as thinking about solutions distracts my brain and helps me fall asleep) and I'm regularly repositioning and plumping my pillows during the night. However, having threatened to do so for years, I finally researched...
Now from the song ironic when nothing in it is actually ironic except that maybe it appears the singer doesn't know what it means. I would be interested in your opinions on the song "perfect" by Eddie Reader particularly the chorus. We have been arguing for years over this with mates so I would...
