Seen this on a few forums, usually a laugh, apologies if it's already been done on here. Post the first word that comes into your head after reading the previous post. I'll start it off. Hibs
18 months since Pet Peeves III. The fitba' season's over so here's PP-IV prescribed as a wee bit therapy for us moaners until the new season starts. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hate when temporary roadwork signs are left up when they are not...

I’ll start with coffins. They charge thousands for something that you either burn or put in the ground. What a rip off, when I kick the bucket I don’t even want a funeral. Just dispose of my body and have a party to celebrate my life.
Maybe one for the older generation. Tina Turner dying has given me a flashback to the early 80's where there were still jukeboxes in most bars. After having a few I would play "Nutbush City Limits" over and over again until it really started to get on people's mammaries. The intention wasn't to get...
Amarone in George Street was the venue for my niece's graduation dinner. I wasn't overly impressed, then again I never really expected to be if I'm honest. Lows were; Nine out of the ten mains being served together, the tenth person was told "we haven't forgot you,it's just not ready yet" It...
I have resolved to watch more documentaries during lockdown, so I'm looking for some recommendations. Watched the Console Wars (Nintendo v Sega) and Apollo 11 on Sky Documentaries over the last couple of days.
This is a game I got from another forum. I start by saying something say:What is life And then the next poster makes an acroynym out of last word of my sentence in response say:Life is for elephants (but hopefully better:greengrin)
Not seen a thread like this for a while, so what gigs are people going to in the near future? I am just starting this as I suddenly have a load of gigs to go to that have only materialised over the last 6 weeks or so :greengrin Tomorrow - The Bootleg Beatles, Wellington Nov 10 - Coldplay,...
https://youtu.be/v6Ytde6tmkQ Hugely unsuccessful band but massively influential. I hear shoe-gaze, grunge, slocore and there's probably a few more micro genres in there too. Great to learn to play to. Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk
You favourite juice (aka ginger) from your childhood and the decade? Any long gone manufacturers (e.g. globe) you recall? Me? American Cream Soda. 1970s. Solripe.
Hi all, can anyone recommend a person that can help me learning Italian? Started off using Duolingo but would prefer a real person to chat with. If this wrong forum please feel free to move.
Died today aged 83. Thanks for the memories Tina
Feels like there's one every week, so thought it might be an idea to have the one thread 🤔 This week it's David Crosby. Eight miles high now.
Strange question but does anyone know if you can get the rubber pellet marks out of football kits? Tried a few things and nothing seems to work🤷
I’m going to New York for Josh Taylor’s fight, just for a few days and looking for some tips. I’ve been a couple of times before so done all the obvious tourist stuff. For this flying visit I’m looking for some hidden gem bars and food places. Where’s the best street food, music bars, cocktails,...
always had a soft spot for, I guess what you would call educational(?), jokes. Jokes to do with maths and the likes. best two I've heard recently My dad once told me i had a lot of potential, right before he pushed me off the balcony. & (not so much a joke, but I like it)
At the request of Alfiembra, here's the Driving Pet Peeve thread for frustrated motorists. So, to kick it off....... When you are just about to get into your car in a car park some Dumbo decides to draw in tight alongside your driver's door despite there being empty spaces everywhere around....
Has anyone received a refund from their bank for historic bank charges on overdrafts? Out of the blue I received a letter from my bank telling me that they had looked at charges on my account back to 2012 and decided they were unfair and unreasonable and are refunding the charges plus 8%...
This is a sore one, gutted to hear he has passed away. The Smiths were for me one of the greatest bands these islands ever produced and his bass playing was a vital part of their sound. When I think of 80s music it’s The Smiths that instantly spring to mind. I’ll be playing a few tracks tonight.
Daft question but see if your getting an electrician to check out the wiring in a property do you need to have an electricity supply into the property connected. I get it needs to be switched off if their doing the work but to test it (EICR) does it need to be on. Thanks.
Got Sky Broadband and also 2 x Sky boosters however my home office seems to be a dead spot and causing me issues for work teams calls etc My home office is converted from internal garage. I have tried products that route signal through plug socket but they just never seem to be any good. ...
Has anyone read any good books recently
It’s gone into administration. I’ve always gone there regularly and really bad news for the 100+ ex employees but also if you like independent cinema. I hope my favourite The Cameo can hang on but the future looks bleak for the whole business model.
Can anyone give me an idea of how much it would cost to trim this rowan tree? It’s approx 25 to 30 ft and I want to lop off about 10 to 12 ft. There are two telephone cables running through the upper part of the tree and the branches at that height are quite slender. I want to get someone who knows...
I have six tickets for Proclaimers at Leith Links on The Saturday. Looking to swap for Sunday tickets if anyone has Sunday tickets and prefers Saturday please PM to arrange. Thanks
Thought some of you might appreciate this track from Gutterblood and Bonnie Prince Bob - a band comprising of Hibees! :flag: A few early reviews from some well known folks: “Makes the Pistols’ God Save The Queen sound like a tame Royalist ballad. Forget Single of the Week. This is Single of...
Every year I plant a few potatoes , onions and peas . This year my potatoes are Queen's , Casablanca's, kerrs pinks , rooster's , Sharpe's express and Maris Pipers as well . I'm hoping to add one more different type of potato as well . I have tried growing cabbage without any luck as they...
Hello, Apologies for this post. However, if anyone is selling a pair of tickets (or more) to The Proclaimers in Leith on Saturday June 17th can you please PM me. Thanks very much! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A truly inspirational human being. RIP Apologies but he surely deserves a thread of his own.
Does Hibs.net contain any Hole-in-one claimants? I've never been the best golfer in the world. My personal record score is 99 around Craigentinny Golf Course in 2005. This is the first and only time I ever went round an 18-hole golf course in less than one hundred. At other sports, I have...

Anyone know of a garage in Edinburgh with a tyre bath? I have a puncture, which my usual garage can't find as they don't have a tyre bath. The tyre is otherwise fine, so doesn't need replaced yet. They suggested another place, which I tried, only to be to told that they got rid of theirs...
I was browsing the site yesterday after the game on my Samsung A52 phone, when it crashed out. Now, all I get is an error message "web server is returning an unknown error". "Error code 520". I can get on fine on my laptop, kindle fire and my wife's similar phone. I've switched off and on and...
Football programmes, records, tv box sets, stamps, train numbers, watches, ties etc etc. I was going through my dad's old record collection earlier; it was emotional. I was just thinking my mum never collected things. I collect things (football programmes, watches and books are my thing) but my...
Does anyone know how to get the service light off on a 2017 Dacia Duster? Service reset isn't available in the UK versions and tried obd2. As it's not a fault it's not picking it up and only the one ECU available to read. My mechanic couldn't find it this morning and YouTube not useful
Came across this and couldn't believe people actually eat this , rather them than me 😁. https://youtu.be/vZ_-JzM-YQg
I realise that it's a long shot, but I wonder if anyone can help me with the name of a band. They were on the scene around the same time as The Automatic (What's that coming over the hill...Monster) and I used to confuse the two of them. They didn't last long, probably had 1 hit, but I saw...
As a long distance courier I would be lost without McDonalds Drive Thru's, and Greggs and KFC's at service stations. Therefore fastfood is not something I just enjoy, but after 8 hours of driving along a motorway (M25, M1, M6, M74, M8), it is something that I dream about. I have even researched...
