Seen this on a few forums, usually a laugh, apologies if it's already been done on here. Post the first word that comes into your head after reading the previous post. I'll start it off. Hibs
Artistically who is your favourite artist from each nation? Could be an actor comedian sports person or musician/pop artist.
This is a game I got from another forum. I start by saying something say:What is life And then the next poster makes an acroynym out of last word of my sentence in response say:Life is for elephants (but hopefully better:greengrin)

As the thread title states...let’s hear your success stories and catastrophic failures. I’ll write mine in good time, for there are many 😂

Enjoying a rather nice bottle of rioja.
18 months since Pet Peeves III. The fitba' season's over so here's PP-IV prescribed as a wee bit therapy for us moaners until the new season starts. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hate when temporary roadwork signs are left up when they are not...
Can anyone recommend a pair of comfortable, wireless earphones which I can use while I fall asleep? I've got good over-ears and wired in-ear headphones, but neither are much good to me as I sleep on my side. The big pair are great when I lie flat, but I can't fall asleep like that and the...
I've gone a wee while without listening to much in the way of new music, but there's been a spate of album releases I've wanted to check out lately for one reason or another and I've been pleasantly surprised. Babel - Mumford and Sons: Develops their sound from Sigh No More and really cements...
Has anyone done this before? Would anyone have concerns about buying this way if they found a house they loved? Now before you answer that, in the interests of transparency, I want to admit that I’ve got a professional interest in your answer. I’ve recently started up an online property...
always had a soft spot for, I guess what you would call educational(?), jokes. Jokes to do with maths and the likes. best two I've heard recently My dad once told me i had a lot of potential, right before he pushed me off the balcony. & (not so much a joke, but I like it)
Again along with the idea of "genre defying" and "songs that blow your mind" thread, not necessarily the best gig you've been to, but the ones that will likely be spoken about for a long time because of significance to the artist or whatnot. First off the top of my head is Blur at Glastonbury...
At the request of Alfiembra, here's the Driving Pet Peeve thread for frustrated motorists. So, to kick it off....... When you are just about to get into your car in a car park some Dumbo decides to draw in tight alongside your driver's door despite there being empty spaces everywhere around....
With many people having more time on their hands atm what books are people reading? Phil Rickman is an author I like. Just finishing his book Friends of the dusk. He writes supernatural mystery which may not be everyone's cup of tea but he creates fascinating storylines that flow nicely and builds...
Was just reminded by the weather we've had of a gig probably a good twelve or thirteen years ago. Back when you used to be able to get cheap tickets for gigs on eBay, we got four tickets for Julian Casablancas from the Strokes at Glasgow ABC. Drove through from Montrose to Glasgow in the snow with...
It’s almost an unspoken thing amongst us men and women, but I’m guessing that at some point in time we’re all struggling to lose weight. I started my diet this week after weighing myself. I was 17st and I’m only 5ft8. Shocking stuff, but I’m sure that we can inspire each other to better things.
Can anyone recommend a pub or music quiz via YouTube or Spotify or the likes and use over zoom? TIA
I have resolved to watch more documentaries during lockdown, so I'm looking for some recommendations. Watched the Console Wars (Nintendo v Sega) and Apollo 11 on Sky Documentaries over the last couple of days.
Amarone in George Street was the venue for my niece's graduation dinner. I wasn't overly impressed, then again I never really expected to be if I'm honest. Lows were; Nine out of the ten mains being served together, the tenth person was told "we haven't forgot you,it's just not ready yet" It...
You plan more sprouts than spuds for the Sunday roast.
Hi folks Shortbangers 25 is available now, usual mix of nonsense and some small doses of Hibs content chucked in. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/longbangers/id1474463560#episodeGuid=9ae0a8b8-27a7-4263-8d27-2268dfbe6051 ...
Post up titles of films, TV, books, songs/albums that aren’t necessarily the best in class, but would be considered genre defining. For example : Sci-fi: Star Wars (might even have to categorise that more specifically) Horror: Psycho Britpop: Common People
I know there's quite a few posters on here who are interested in matters of the cosmos, so I thought I'd start a thread to keep us all together. Im currently watching a documentary on dark matter, a subject that I find fascinating. The latest theory seems to be that it is comprised from a particle...
We’ve got a few musical threads on this forum, but wanted to get your input on songs that, whether it was the first time you ever heard them or still to this day left you thinking “wow!” so not necessarily brilliant songs, but stunning ones. (Reason for this thread, and why it sprung to mind is...
Not seen a thread like this for a while, so what gigs are people going to in the near future? I am just starting this as I suddenly have a load of gigs to go to that have only materialised over the last 6 weeks or so :greengrin Tomorrow - The Bootleg Beatles, Wellington Nov 10 - Coldplay,...
Pretty simple one. My phone is one - I often give my partner a lift to her work, to appointments and the like and the phone has become the perfect time wasting device when I'm waiting on her. Music, podcasts, games, audiobooks. On a training course with business, never alone with a phone. ...
I’m on holiday in turkey and there’s a guy that goes around in roller skates taking orders for drinks and handing out ice lollies. I could easygo and order this myself, but it makes me happy when the guy comes round in his roller skates. What are the little things in life that make you happy.
