View Full Version : Disliked Hibs XI

LNHibs
16-06-2025, 09:53 PM
My mate and I were discussing players at Hibs we just couldn’t take to and this was the XI we came up with

Maxwell

Docherty
Nelson
Forster
McGivern

Tudor Jones
Haalberg

Drey Wright
Kamberi
Soares

Collins

(Limited myself to only a couple of the 5-1 team while all could be valid)

I liked Hallberg.

I’d chuck in Demetri Mitchell and Islam Feruz.

Unseen work
16-06-2025, 10:11 PM
Really surprised about a couple of those!

Forster I liked when he initially broke through (clearly recent news completely changes my mind on him)

Docherty I liked because I thought he was a good player, it was his antics after that made me think less of him

Hallberg just seemed a good guy and player imo

Kamberi I absolutely loved during that first loan and thought we’d won a watch getting him permanently.

Agree about Maxwell, Nelson, Tudor Jones and Soares. I’d add;

Scott Robertson
Paul Heffernan
Rowan Vine
Gary Deegan
Matt Done
Sean O’Hanlon
Roy Odonovan

Never disliked any of them, just never took to them or wasn’t bothered about them. Most from a certain era which says it all

Tom James and Josh Vela were 2 abysmal signings.

Vela was just miles off the pace with everything and James refused to tackle anyone.

Shefki Kuqi could barely move by the time he arrived at Hibs. I remember up at pittodrie he must've had a 10 yard head start on an Aberdeen player who caught up with him with ease

If it's when they played for us, it's harsh. If it's based on crimes that may have been allegedly committed (may actually have been convicted, but I don't remember),then he definitely gets in.

Some of them have been so bad I can't even remember their names but remember the moments that made me dislike them!

Who started right back in the 4-3 Falkirk game at Hampden? Match fixing levels of performance! Also whoever absolutely sh*t the bed pulling out of a tackle at the very end of the Hamilton play off game? That might have been Tudor Jones the more I think about it?

Tim Clancy I think. Another that's worthy of anyone's team.

I remember once a horrible 0-0 game against Aberdeen (might have been DM first in charge of them) on like a Monday night or something. Late into injury time and it's a last chance for an attack, everyone starts to charge up the field as we look to get it forward, and Clancy gets the ball down the right hand side and proceeds to run it out of play for a throw in somehow. Never seen so many people just up and leave in sheer anger.

Atrocious footballer.

Will probably get slaughtered for this but Anthony Stokes.

Forever grateful for that unreal display on 21.05.2016, he was unstoppable that day and won us the cup. But a dislikable character and towards the end treated the club with no respect, turnign up late all the time to training, fights on the training ground with management etc. Acted like Billy big baws, never grew up and thought he could do whatever the hell he liked. I can't imagine someone like that would be well liked in the dressing room either.

As I say, legend for his heroics in the final but can't say I think much of him as a person and he left the club under a cloud. Shame because with his experience he could have been such an asset to have around the club if he just had a better attitude.

Some of the names on this thread still give me nightmares! Billy Brown, arrogant hearts ******* should never have been anywhere near Hibs. An absolute bellend of the highest order.

Killen couldn't wait to leave Hibs, despite the fact Hibs took good care of him considering how often he was on the treatment table. He was offered a good deal by Collins to stay (while he was still injured) at the same time he was talking to Cardiff City who paraded him as a new signing only for Celtic to step in at the last minute and snatch him away from them.

This. Couldn’t stand him. He thought he was Glenn Hoddle. Loved to attempt a long pass but nearly always duck-hooked it 30 yards away from its target. Then after the ‘squiggler ‘ attempted to shoot every time he got a sight of goal no matter how far out he was.
