Draw is seemingly tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1pm
The big teams who have qualified for Europe go in at the last 16 stage
Interestingly Ross County are seeded but Livvi aren’t

Wouldn’t have had a clue it’s tomorrow but imagine hearts fans will be watching nervously

Hearts will win all group games 10-0 due to McInnes, analytics and £10m. They should get a bye really….

Opportunity for them to get revenge against Brora Rangers. Well, maybe!

Hope we get lucky with the draw.

Ahh, sorry. We won't be in at this ridiculously early stage as we have European football. :greengrin

One group stage I'm delighted we're not a part of!

Was the draw conducted by Johnathan Obika per chance?

They should 100% do one of their world famous appeals due to being demoted to the group stages.

I think its poor teams in Europe skip the groups

Completely agree.
The cups are the only chance a number of lower division community clubs will ever get to play a Hibs, Celtic or Rangers.....huge for the fans as a spectacle and the clubs for the gate receipts. The advent of the Groups should have increased these games, not reduced them.

So glad we don’t need to bother with that.

Fife in July?

That's the sort of group stage football one can't help but be a tad envious about.

Presume we might get some half decent friendlies this year instead of playing League Cup games vs Cove Rangers.

One of the funniest penalty shoot outs ever as Tiny as Hearts, already out, had to take penalties for an utterly meaningless bonus point. They lost, iirc.

Yes also remember great leadership by Budge and Levein leaving the stand before the penalties meaning Cathro left to take the heat

I thought it captured their demographic perfectly. Looks like Porty beach too.

At least we won't be going to Parkhead in the 1st knockout round this season. Hardest we could get is a trip to the SMISA.

The fact that it looked like everyone was superimposed onto the photo. And the mental mess of a whole family going to potty beach dressed in FKW (except for the woman who has bikini bottoms on). And the fact that they are all set up looking away from the sea (something nobody does).

Just weird.

The pie.

Suppose it’s a triumph in some respects. The fact that we are still talking about it 15 odd years later. Albeit for the wrong reasons.

Already guaranteed to lose less games in this competition next year than we did in the season just finished.

Do teams share the gates on these games, as they are cup ties in a league format

He’s their kit man. Wonder if we might be lining up our lad to lead some top notch marketing.

He started off wearing the outfit of their mascot on match days, then got a job in the club shop before becoming the kit man.

I'm assuming they're showing two Hearts games from the groups because they won't make the knockout rounds.

It is the League Cup after all.

63 years and counting. Throw in they have won three trophies in 62 years and only Dundee have been relegated more times since League reconstruction in 1974. Third force aye 😂😂😂

Fwiw I do enjoy watching these in July. Sometimes a fun way to see how a new manager is getting on or what a new signing looks like at another club in a fixture that means something. That and you get the odd "oh look that's where X is now" when you see a Stirling Albion or something.

At the very least I might just hate watch Hearts and hope they mug themselves off early doors.

There's quite often a surprise or two in these games too. Both ourselves and Hearts have been on the receiving end in recent years. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they're out of the league cup before we're out of Europe
