He's one of six assistant managers there. Hope he takes what is a wonderful experience and opportunity at Spurs and becomes a better manager for it if he decides to go down that route again.

Struggling haha. It's probably the nicest thing I've said about him.

The managerial churn is such that I can't even remember when we've parted with managers on good terms or bad... In my head Butcher was obviously bad, Calderwood probably on the bad side of the spectrum...
Good side; Stubbs...?
I guess the general fate of a Hibs manager is bad enough to be sacked or good enough to ditch us.

His stubbornness cost us as a club. I couldn't care less how he or his wee pal Sergio do at Spurs or anywhere else.

Then you get the curious case of Bobby Williamson. One that the club probably wanted rid of but somehow another club actually wanted him.

Possibly the worst game of football I've watched this season ..... it made Hibs v Rangers 2012 last weekend look like 1970s Brasil v prime Barcelona.
The next time somebody tells you Scottish football is *****, sit them down an make them watch that game :faf:
Congratulations Tottingham.

Like when Hearts paid us for Brian Hamilton. As welcome as it was baffling. :greengrin

He moved from a very successful and comfortable position in Australia to try and take on our club which was in a bit of a shambolic position to say the least - it didn't work out at all, but through no lack of effort. It was not only a bad move for us, but a bad move for him too and we should remember that.
Well done Nick Montgomery - I bet it was absolutely fantastic to be a part of those celebrations last night. Clearly a good coach.

We had just finished 5th. We’d had a poor start to the season winning 1 and losing 3 and we’d been knocked out of Europe by one of the best sides in England.
If we were a shambles prior to him coming in I’d hate to see how you’d describe the state we were in with him at the helm. He may well be a good ‘coach’ when he has someone above him to make the decisions, but he was an absolutely abysmal Hibs manager. For any Hibs fan who isn’t yet an adult he’s likely the worst they’ll remember.

He took us backwards from the much maligned Lee Johnson (who wasn't anywhere near as bad as folk made out IMO). How he got that squad finishing 8th I'll never know.
Montgomery has a great number as part of Anges coaching team. It's worked out in the end for both us and him. He'll be hoping Ange remains at Spurs.

Dull support with dull songs (one!)
Only to be out-dulled by United.

I listened to the first half on 5 live. I haven’t listened to a game on there for about 5 years. I have no idea who was commentating but I hope I never hear them again. They were awful, offered no insight into the game other than it was played at a brutal place.Talked a lot and said nothing

Bit unfair.
I was at the Tottenham game at tynecastle earlier in the season, in away end. They had plenty old school football songs, no banging drums or ultras crap. Was a nice change tbh.
Their fans were sound - They have a bit of self deprecating humour about being Spurs fans but love their club. Reminded me of Hibs fans in a lot of ways.

I have long said Spurs are the Hibs of England and vice versa.
Until the other day (and us in 2016) had been trophyless for ages, always there or there abouts, never set the heather on fire, fans have delusions of grande based on a fabulous past, want to play good football. Can go on good runs and have spectacular bad form (see this season for bad and the start of the season for us). Live in a two team town (North London and Edinburgh).
Very much like us.
All my in-laws are Spurs fans, I see lots of similarities. Add West Ham to the list too.

Hibs and Spurs were my choice of club when I was around 5 years old. My dad was Hearts and Man U.
Pleased my dad was relaxed enough with this. Know some people were brainwashed or manipulated by their parents as far as football is concerned.
I was 5 around when the Tornadoes started. My dad recollects me going on about Hibs then, so little wonder they were my choice.
He took me to both ER and tiny around this time and he said I had no doubts who I wanted to watch more.

Yep. Seemed like an honest guy, but he came across thick as 2 planks.
