He could be if he had 2 years left on his deal, as it is this is our last summer to get a fee for him.

This particular team of the year, appears to be by the national press, I would imagine it’s a great achievement to be included in this team, especially from a very small team.

There were many reasons it didn’t work out for Vente . I think the our league didn’t really suit him being one . The player has more or less said he’d rather move from us , with his contract situation if we could get a decent price for him it would be better for both parties.

He left on loan, and around that time and the months that followed their was a sizeable number of posters on here who thought that Rocky was gash, Boyle was finished and Triantis, Iredale and Cadden were poor signings. A lot changed in that time and the team Vente would be rejoining doesn’t resemble the team he left. When he first arrived he was scoring for fun.

I’ll be surprised if bottom - mid tabled Zwolle are gifted more ‘perfect opportunities’ to score by Eredivisie defences than our own forwards.

Gray has made them all ballers by playing attacking classy football. Ventes goals this season have been from all positions, he'd eat up Caddens crosses. Rocky always looked like a player, just that he couldn’t concentrate for a full game. Levitt showed he can do it here with Dundee United, and the idea that Triantis was ever poor for a prolonged spell is a complete misnomer.

Vente has - without a handful of games at the start of his Hibs career (some of them in Europe) - always looked completely anonymous and toothless here, including under SDG at the start of the season.

It’s not just the wrong move for us to keep him, it’s the wrong move for the player too. Everyone wins by us selling him.

I agree somewhat that hes maybe not physical enough for this league and if a good offer comes in offering a decent profit then yes we should cash in. Equally wouldn't be against him coming back and having another crack. He lost his way under monty and never quite found this early confidence again. Under gray and this new emboldened team he could still be a very good player for us. Im happy either way.

We are all assuming Vente will be sold but he is under contract and will need to rock up to pre season training just like Youan.

Imagine if both these players commit to the club and become game changes for out attack next season especially given the assists from Cadden and Boyle and the way we play (unlike Monty ball)

The guy came in, was pretty average at worst, fairly decent at best (11 goals and 5 assists in ever so slightly over one season) whilst playing in an awful team out of position under the worst manager we’ve had since Terry Butcher.

There is probably every chance if we hadn't loaned him out this season he may have done equally as well with us as he has done out on loan.

In my opinion, he's looking like he's about to become a good piece of business for the club. I respect the fact he came out and said he is unlikely to be with us. I prefer someone being upfront, than folk like Riordan or Murray who never had the decency to say they are seeing out their contracts and leaving for nothing.

He's not a bad player. Far from it. It's one of these strange situations where I'd be quite pleased if he returns and also quite pleased if we sell him for a good fee.

If a decent offer comes in for him and he wants to go then don't stand in his way, however I could also imagine SDG saying to him to see how pre-season and the training camp goes and perhaps the 1st few games of the season. We are a very different team to when he was playing before. I seem to recall in his Youtube video he scored a few with his head and I think he also scored 1 or 2 for us. For a 5' 11" striker he's not bad in the air and we've seen how N Cadden can put the ball on Gayle and Boyle's head with them barely needing to jump. I also reckon he'd relish getting on the end of the kind of ball Cadden put in for Gayle's goal at Tynecastle.

Players progress under Gray, they don't regress.

I'd like to see him back, he looked very low on confidence before but his loan stint should have given it a big boost. However, if he wanted to go, he'd go with my best wishes.

I'd love to have seen him stay but it seems he's set on going back to the Netherlands permanently so I wouldn't want to keep him against his wishes. There's also the risk that he picks up some niggly injury and then he signs a pre contract in January and we get nothing. Cash in and put it towards keeping Nectar Triantis, although I doubt we'll be getting millions unless one of the big clubs was bidding.

I still don’t see it. We score goals but contrast in the way we do things, by his own admission, is still massive. We’ve been at our best when we have a presence up there with Boyle. He’s still not going to offer that.
