No reason given but didn’t travel to Abu Dhabi.

Not ITK in any way, but aware that Greece have two games on the same dates as Oz play their World Cup fixtures

Let’s see what transpires.

If we do get him back, i hope it is true that he's chosen Greece for simply selfish reasons that the travel time is much less. :greengrin

Sounds like Greece have come in think Malky mentioned it in recent interview

Malky said on premier sports last night that he’d been selected by Oz and Greece. Maybe he prefers Greece?

Maybe

FWIW I have never thought Popovich really fancied him and maybe they had a conversation along the lines that Boyler did with Alex McLeish.

Think it'll be a huge mistake on Popovich's part if he lets him go to Greece.

If Greece is his favoured option hopefully he doesn't think playing for a Greek team will enhance his chances, or that Sunderland think that and tout him to Greek teams.

I don't think we'll see him back unfortunately, Ledson has probably been identified as his replacement

That was my first thought and biggest worry.

Huge whole to fill but arguably something we will have to deal with each year as our recruitment improves.

Huge blow if we can't have Triantis back next season. It should however show potential signings, loan signings and of course clubs who are looking to loan out players what could be achievable if you sign for Hibs.

Hope it's because Malky has tied him to a chair and has the multi pen close by.

For me one of the most impressive turnarounds in a player at Hibs in the last few years to go from the way it started to now. Though you could probably say that for a few in this squad. And thinking about it now he must have only missed a handful of games for us since he came back, first name on the teamsheet. Big miss if he goes.

I think we’d be doing well to get him back again

As poster said give hibs even without European football a great sales pitch of using the like of John McGinn, Josh Doig, triantis now of how Hibs can be used to reach a players next level.

I suspect he will be choosing Greece then

If it's because the Oz manager doesn't fancy him, seems like a crazy decision to me

Don’t expect him to be back but would be delighted to see it

He won't be back for my cash.

He is going to be a top player and I reckon Sunderland will want him there, particularly if they don't get promoted.

If they do go up we might have a wee squeak at another season loan.

Sunderland going up might help the chances of him coming back, even if still less than 50/50. Anyone know how long he has left on his contract with them?

He'll be off to St Pauli now, I reckon.

While it's highly doubtful Sunderland will look on him as the quality they need to stay in the EPL next season, if there's any truth in the rumour St Pauli are looking at him there's no chance he will stay at Hibs. The Bundesliga or SPL ... what would you do? If he does join the Greek national team there's a good chance a few Greek clubs might take an interest as well.

St Pauli - as in the club that Jackson Irvine opted for? He still there?

Jackson is still there and their captain. They love him.

If they're interested we have no chance

Probably not likely, but it’s possible that St Pauli’s interest is linked to Jackson Irvine’s Australian connection to Triantis. His late rejection of Australia in favour of Greece, might just be a wee spanner in the works and dissipate their interest in him. You never know.
