There was a lot of interesting debate over the last few years around how a safe standing section directly behind the goals would affect the atmosphere at Easter Road.
It was understandable that some people wouldn't be happy about having to move from there. There were others who thought it would do nothing to improve atmosphere. However, I think it 's fair to say the move of the singing section and the introduction of safe standing has been a huge success.

It's made a massive difference to the atmosphere and feel of being at Easter Road. Of course onfield performances and results have majorly contributed to that, but then the fans may also have helped us achieve some of those results and performances. Feels like a real connection again between the fans and the players. Well done to all the fans who pushed for this move and for the club for acting on it. :flag:

I think it's been great.
It was the right thing to do and that has been vindicated

Superb decision. Atmosphere spreads around the stadium now and you no longer have all those empty pockets of seats behind the goal. Well done to everyone in the standing section who sang their way through the season - keep it up/get even more people involved.

Good decision, and I’m much happier with my view from the east stand family section!

I tried it for a couple of games and have moved there for next season. I like standing at games

As has been said was the correct decision and this season has vindicated that. Hopefully will continue to grow.

100% good decision.
Yesterday and other games have demonstrated that.
Looked really busy yesterday and you can tell the players feed off the energy.
Was just good seeing the whole section green and white and everyone looking together supporting Hibs.

I'm away at the other end of the stadium. The atmosphere in the ground comes from the East and barring a drum I can't really hear the FFL. That being said the song may have started there and worked its way round but it doesn't sound that way. I'd love to see what the actual attendance figures have been as it hasn't looked that much busier than in previous years. The black area behind the goal has made the goal frame more defined so I dare say that is a plus and barring the huge expense it doesn't appear to have done any harm and a small group of supporters have got their wish. Plenty time for it to grow though and if we continue the form of this season it may prove to be a wise investment.

Feels like a bit of negative take on the successes of the move.
I sit in the west upper around the halfway line and the noise created in the FF this season has been a very welcome addition. The East certainly contributes but in no way would I say it creates the atmosphere or noise at the games… the chants almost always start in the FF and then are echoed around the other stands.
While there is a certain amount of negative incidents involving the Hibs ‘ultras’ but overall they have increased the atmosphere in the ground and have gone so far as to challenge and sometimes quiet hefty noise from the away end.
Proof is ultimately in the pudding, the move has worked.

There may be more ‘atmosphere’ but I don’t think Easter Road is louder with the singing section. The problem is that in the ‘old’ singing section at the far end of the east you can’t hear the FF at all apart from a drum (that goes constantly). You end up with an uncoordinated atmosphere. It’s divide and not conquer.
I like their enthusiasm and the displays are great but for me the logistics dont work unless they can get a lot more people in the FF lower - hopefully they do. I prefer the fact that in the back of the east you’re closer to the roof which helps bounce the sound around.

Think it’s good the east has its folk who stand and sing and the ff lower has others too.:.with the occasional rare chant from the upper west.
The bottom line is the ff lower was always half empty - quiet and now it’s the complete opposite which can only be a good thing surely ! Hopefully over time the full section will stand every game and be a wall of sound.

It’s been a positive 1st season with the standing section

Just seen some videos of half time and seems a be a load of younger fans singing Hibs songs and bouncing etc - surely that’s only a good thing for the future of the club and Hibs fans ?!

Definitely been a worthwhile development. It's notably louder from the FF Upper now.
I think credit has to go to Block7 for actually listening to other fans concerns as well. They get a lot of stick, often deserved, but the issue with the big flags blocking the goal was raised, they listened and now use them much more sparingly. It's an example of what can be done with a wee bit compromise that isn't 'we'll do whatever we like' or 'you can't do that at all'.

Great first season, displays have been brilliant the noise level has been good but plenty room for improvement as more and more people move into the section. Great decision by the club.
