I can barely remember him playing for us once but he did so twice, almost made double figure appearances across both spells.

Joe Baker, one of our all time greats IMO.

Derek Riordan. Another natural goalscorer, loved watching him play.

Grant Brebner?

On loan from Man Utd first, went to Reading, came back to us later on a permanent contract?

Marc McNulty had a couple of separate loan spells, and I suppose Leigh Griffiths technically did too? He’ll have left to return to a parent club between loan spells with us.

Left to go to Bristol City and then came back a few years later under Calderwood or Fenlon

Eddie May, can’t remember where he went though

Eddie went to Brentford after Hibs, then had a good few clubs when he returned to Scotland, but never back to Hibs , as a player.

If were counting coaching roles, then a mention for Brian Rice, Jackie MacNamara, George Stewart, Jimmy O'Rourke, John Fraser, Sammy Kean, Hugh Shaw.....the list is long and illustrious.

Not quite re-signing but did Alex Cropley come back to us at the end of his career to at least train with us with a view to signing but with a potential deal ending up not coming off?

He played in midweek reserve game at Easter Road…I was at it in 1982.

I think Hibs actually got fined for playing a non registered player.

I heard Alex was being released by Portsmouth, so I contacted Hibs, who said they already knew.

I asked Alex about it a few years later, he told me that his knees had gone completely by then, as far as football was concerned.

I think Hibs actually got fined for playing a non registered player. He had taken PFA compensation for his injuries down south, without realising it prohibited him from playing professionally again.

Saw him in reserve game as well, alongside another returnee, Ally McLeod - a Friday night fixture which was very enjoyable Hibs losing 3 2 to Dundee. Don't think either played for the first team again. Also playing for the reserves that night was ex-jambo Malcy Robertson.
