I did a google search on "asterisk Italian football" and their ai said...

"AI Overview

In the context of Italian football, an asterisk is*often used to signify a situation or outcome that is not completely fair or legitimate, usually due to external factors or controversies.*It suggests that the true champion may not have been determined solely on the field."

Seems fair

Why is that Rangers, Hearts and Livingston don't asterisks against the trophies they won with accompanying "external controversies"?

*** these 3 trophies were paid for with money stolen from Lithuanian pension funds (1998 cup win not actually being paid for until takeover by Vlad).
