As it says above, is no news good news?
I want him at Easter Road for another couple of years, but if he want to go then awe the very best to him and his family.

Whilst totally respecting his personal wishes from a selfish Hibs stand point I think we should enforce the 1yr extension. Takes him up to the World Cup and then he gets a well deserved testimonial for a wee payout and best wishes if he moves to Australia

Thought testimonials were for unbroken contracts ?

No, Ian Murray got one.

I'd like him to stay another year.
However if, speaking hypothetically, he had expressed a desire to go over to Australia in the World Cup year to cut down his travelling time and try something different with his family then I'd be ok if Hibs respected his wishes rather than enforcing the additional year.
He's been a good servant to us over 2 spells and I'd place as much emphasis on his wishes as what Hibs want. Hopefully both parties agree to go for the year and see where we are this time next season but if it's not to be then so be it.

Sign the extension, keep him for the European Group Stages, let him leave in January for Australia if we are out of Europe by that point. Playing in Europe would be brilliant WC prep for Boyle as well.

I suspect the reason we’re not extending it is his wages. He’s our highest paid player and we don’t want to keep paying that money. Malky Mackay openly talked about the contracts that were ending this summer back at the start of the season and how important that was for us financially.
I suspect we’re looking at offering him a longer deal on less money.
Either that, or we’ll trigger his ext if we guarantee Group Stage football.

Celtic interested?
If they are and he wants to sign then we trigger the extra year. If he wants to go to Oz then let him go. That's my thoughts anyways.

Has his wife signed a new deal with Hibs women ?!! Both out of contract ?
A double announcement would be good for men and women’s teams.
No, Ian Murray got one.
Maybe with a crowd of under 3000 , a lot of folk disagreed

If he DOES want to play in Oz then he better get used to playing for a lot less than he was at Hibs.
Most of the clubs have significant money problems……eg Melbourne Victory had a loss of 11 million dollars last financial year.
Whether new coach Tony Popovic takes him to the World Cup is debatable too…..he was an automatic choice when Arnie was in charge, but Poppa has talked about promoting young home grown talent.

I agree to an extent, but is that now 17 goals hes bagged for the season? Boyle is a known quantity, scores important goals for us and has been integral to excellent form.
How much would it cost us to replace that? I think for the sake of another year on good money he'd be worth keeping - if he wants to stay. If he wants to go to Australia I'd let him go and thank him for his time at the club.

Completely agree.
A while back I was swithering on the years extension due to his wage but now wouldn't mind him remaining as our highest earner next season. Especially on the back of the goals and performances he's put in this season.
He's also vice captain and your best players and captain (vice) should be your highest earner.

2m for anyone outside of the ugly twins for him.
10m if Celtic or Rangers are interested.

It would be near impossible to replace Boyle next season without spending more than what it would cost to keep him IMO.
If we end up in the groups, one winning goal and the prize money you get for a win, would about pay his wages.
If we have confirmed group stage football I’d expect the option to be activated.

I thought he hinted at staying? Also think some English clubs are interested.

17 goals and 10 assists so far this season. We’d be incredibly lucky to come close to replacing that at all, never mind for less money.
For Boyle it would be most profitable if he was to head down South and get a couple of years in the Championship, if its only money he's interested in, what will be will be.

Would love it if he took the microphone after the final game and told the fans he’s staying !
Needs to make the 100 goal mark either this season or next ! Will be a brilliant achievement.
Does anyone have a list of the history of Hibs top scorers ?
