Campbell on for Holliett. Not the move I’d have made.

For the second time today on this thread I eat my words. He played a big part in as getting a grip of the game.

Sheer brilliant defending by Hibs there the shielding and prevention of movement and passing of the Utd player combined with the covering and closing off of the pass pathway to the roaming Utd player by Iredale was superb - a small moment but brilliant teamwork

First half was fantastic

Slow start in the 2nd but would rather give utd some credit for finally showing up

Last half hour we were in control i felt. Subs were outstanding and perfect timing

Dundee United came out second half got an early goal then out us under a lot of pressure for 15/20 with a few moments of rash players an struggling to get a foot on the ball.

Players got through it with the lead intact, Bowie and Campbell both good subs who helped us get back up the pitch and both put in a good shift.

Two more subs then helped out with another great cross from N.Cadden and finish from Gayle.

A vital 3 points with Aberdeen dropping points.

Bit of a wobble after they scored but after that it was normal service resumed like the first half - bit like the Dundee game but a bit more of a worry than when Dundee were in it - its mentality - loving it 😁

Not sure about that. His mis-kick that led to their goal kind of takes away the shine a bit.

Delighted he scored, though

Just walking back from game - massive result. To be bounce back after last week and especially to keep calm at 2-1.

Brilliant 1st half.

2nd half Utd had to attack more and go for it but we held strong at 2-1.

Another example of having a strong bench helps - key players come on and win the game for us.

Well done players - manager and fans who supported the team well.

Myko was so much better today - glad he got his goal and battled really well. Happy for him.

Pretty much 4 points ahead ( with goal difference) with 9 to play for. Win away to St Mirren and think we finish 3rd.

All the damage from last week undone thanks to our own good work and a favour from our wee pals in Paisley. 2 games closer to 3rd.

If the old firm take max points from Aberdeen and United, 3rd is ours regardless of anything else.

Maybe Celtic will but TBH Aberdeen and United must feel that The Rangers are beatable. I can see Sevco putting up a show against Celtic tomorrow, but I can't see the players being up for the remaining games after that.

We were getting torn to shreds from 45 minutes up till about 70. I thought Triantis showed a couple of real moments of class to retain possession and start attacks just by his touch, he's just so good. Crucial save by Smith at the post and a quite magnificent take from a wicked ball by Middleton. Its time our keeper started getting more credit. And the sometimes maligned O'Hora made a couple of important blocks. The subs seemed to change things, Bowie especially as things started to stick to him, and from 70 minutes in I could only see one winner.

A special mention to the East Stand who made more noise than I remember for a long time.

Game of subs today, thought we outfoxed them with bench players. Pole position now with us and sheep both ends of Glasgow next week. Thought big myko had a really decent game up front, him and Boyle with a similar impact that they had against Dundee defence. Campbell I thought really impacted in behind when he came in few unlucky moments kept us from free scoring today.

Agree about Smith.

He looks absolutely like he’s the real deal.

Starting next season with him as the number one shouldn’t even be in question, albeit I’d be happy having someone to challenge him.

It's always good to have a decent back up in case of injury or suspension. Maybe it's time for Murray Johnson to step up?

Kind of the perfect win eh? Mean that as in, I'm glad we got the win after coming under a decent amount of pressure second half. Showed exactly the kind of character this group has.

If United played as poorly as they did first half and we won four or five nil, whilst it would've been class, I don't think it would've showed us as much as this win did. They threw everything at us for about 10-15 minutes second half and we absolutely weathered it, stayed in front then went on to score another great goal.

I love this team.

It felt like a cup semi final or something today. I thought we could have went in at HT with another goal or two and out of sight. Utd came back in the 2nd half, but we didn't break and Gayle's goal secured it. What a result with Aberdeen losing to St Mirren though, it definately made up for last week.

Whatever happens next week will happen though. We go there, try our best and hope to get something.

They were never going to be as bad second half as they were in the first. They changed things, got an early goal and a reaction. I think it's fine to give the opposition credit at times when they do well (not suggesting you don't by the way)

United made a double sub and came out flying second half. We eventually worked it out, got on top again and sealed the win with a great goal.

All in just a really entertaining game of football.

They left at half time. I saw them walking along past the back of the FF. Think they were a bunch of English lads on a stag do or similar. Couple had Hibs strips on top over their chicken suits...

Their main tactic is into Dalby of course but through the midfield they had some really nice rotations

I can see why they've been in top 6 all season
