View Full Version : Hibees positivity thread ahead of the Dundee United game

Whilst the defeat against Aberdeen was a sore one, I still saw enough to remain positive. It took an exceptional goal to defeat us. As many have stated, we were collectively below recent standards, but I'm convinced that we can rectify that at Easter Road tomorrow against Dundee United. It's often said that you learn more from failure than from success. So, I expect that SDG and his backroom staff will learn from the Aberdeen defeat and will look to correct these against United.
Still so many reasons to be positive. We have won each of our last six home league games, our longest run in the Scottish Premiership since winning seven in succession under Neil Lennon.
In our last 12 games, we're top of the form table with 27 points (8 wins, 3 draws, 1 defeat) compared to Dundee United's 16 points (5 wins, 1 draw, 6 defeats). That said, it will be a tough game against a team who have done well in recent games at Easter Road, albeit needing a fortuitous VAR decision to go their way to salvage a draw.
Tomorrow will be a huge test for the Hibees. We've done so well to go 18 games unbeaten, but that's now in the past. I hope that as the Hibees run onto the pitch at a packed Easter Road we keep the positivity flowing.

I have to work, so ill miss it. Whenever i miss a game this season we seem to win, so thats all the feel good we need :greengrin I could possibly get there for the 2nd half but then ill have to move half the row to get to my seat, which guaranteed someone else will be sitting in.

We're winning this, I'm more worried about decisions by the officials than I am about Dundee United, make good chances and take them, job done.

I always feel like we'll beat Dundee United. Doesn't matter whether it's home or away. Always feel confident playing them.
No idea why. There's probably no figures or statistics that really back that up.

We’re better than them. Play even close to our best and we win. I think Gray will have them well up for this and we take the 3 point.
Added bonus would be Aberdeen dropping points at St Mirren which is more than possible.

Funny, I find the exact same thing. There are just teams i naturally feel more confident against (United being one) and others I don’t regardless of league positions and current form.

Easter Road..
Undefeated at home in 2025 - that’s 5 months.
Undefeated since Novemebr at home.
One tight result and incredible finish doesn’t suddenly make us a bad team.
We have brilliant players who can cause teams all sorts of problems.
Score those headers last week and we win that game.
We go again - all the fans get behind the boys for the final 4 games.
This is a must win - just win it - don’t care how we do it or how we play but just win the fans are fully behind the team.

I think we’ll bounce back tomorrow.
Let ourselves down last week and missed an opportunity with the way we approached it. Nothing to think about tomorrow, we just need to go out and win the game.

Our aspirations of 3rd without needing favours elsewhere hinge on winning this game as a start.
Massive game, biggest of the season. Until the next one 😂
The most excited I've been about a home match in years. 64 years since my first game and the feeling never gets old. The boys in the nosebleed seats in Section 43 are always full of energy so we will all be bringing our 'A' game to the atmosphere today.

Delighted to see this thread continue
Another massive game for us, about our 18th in a row 🤣
Every game with United has been very close this season, need to be at our best to win.
C’mon the Hibees!

A major boost would be if St Mirren can take something off Aberdeen, which I think they're well capable of doing.

Unbeaten at home since St Mirren in November, good chance for another vital 3 points today.
