If you could pick four players from the premier league ( GK , Defender, Mid , Attacker ) that would improve or you’d just like to see at Hibs who would you pick? ( sorry mean English premier league) .

I’ve only got a keeper picked yet and that’s Liverpool’s Allison . Think most of us would love to see SJM back .

Raya over Allison?

Seen him make some fantastic saves this season and his distribution is top notch especially long passes.

Don't get me wrong , I think Raya is an excellent keeper but I think in world terms Allison is up there with Donnaruma as the best in the world.

Interestingly, 3 of which have played against Hibs.

Are there any top keeps in the premier league who have played against Hibs?

C'mon PB...you're offered any player in defence in the EPL, you're no taking Antonee Robinson. For a start, you'd have to drop Nicky Cadden for him :greengrin

He's had an outstanding couple of seasons. Be spoken about totally differently if/when he signs for Liverpool in the summer.

Perfect back up for Cadden:agree:

SJM - for sentimental reasons so he'll need to play in goal :greengrin
TAA - assuming we keep playing 3 CBs, RWB is our weakness imo (and we're better than Madrid)

My only interest in football these days comes via Hibs so I couldn't actually name four Premier League players! Looking at people's nominations the only names I recognise are McGinn and Haaland.

Changed days from my football sticker albums of the late 70s when I could probably name a team from every English and Scottish top flight club. Now I would also struggle to name more than a couple of players from other Scottish clubs. In fact off the top of my head the only Hearts players I can put a name to immediately are Gordon and Shankland.

I'm the same with Scottish clubs, I know the Hibs squad inside out but I could only name maybe one or two from the other clubs since there's no coverage for Scotland here but plenty of EPL coverage so no problem with English based players.

I was going to post similar comments. I have the odd game on in the background but have no investment in football outside Hibs and Scotland. I could probably name 4 players but I wouldn't have a clue if they were good, bad or indifferent. They would all likely improve Hibs though given the difference in standard

I'm the same. I was surprised to find out it was the Champions League semi final last night. Little to no interest in football outside Hibs.

Quite surprised by that tbh but then again I follow Newcastle United in the premier league and watch a lot of it as I do the championship and watch some league 1 and 2 games as well . I’d watch any Scottish game . Where I’d lose interest is the foreign leagues ,watch a bit of the Spanish and German leagues but that’s about it really . One I’ve totally given up on is the Italian league.

I certainly couldn't name you a Newcastle player. The last time I took a genuine interest in English football was when Alex Ferguson was managing Man U. I was big fan of his with Aberdeen (despite the fact they dished out a fair bit of punishment to Hibs) and loved the kind of teams he put together with so many young players given their opportunity. However, I loathe the obscene levels of money in the game now and the way it's so dictated to by TV scheduling.

Bottom line, though, is that as I've got older football has simply drifted down the pecking order and if I wasn't a lifelong Hibs fan I'd probably be unlikely to watch it. There are more fulfilling ways to spend my time.

The Italian leagues the most competitive in Europe now and a good few Scottish players playing too mate, would gie it a go if I was you. German football always seems ***** to me.

Fair enough . I’m probably totally the opposite as football is high on my priority list and I dread when the season ends and cannot wait till the new season kicks off again .

Maybe I will give it a go again . It’s years since I’ve watched the Italian league , when I did I found the style of football dull passing back and forth with little goalmouth action , probably harsh but found a lot of the Italian teams years ago more set up not to lose rather than trying to win .

Good man, I know what you mean since the turn of the century but it has improved tenfold imo. Games on later, Samp' are in big bother down the bottom of Serie B, game kicks off at two, think Lombardi is in charge of them or someone from the early 90s super team they had :greengrin
