:agree: such a thought provoking programme and that was a beautiful rendition too. Tennant clearly in bits.

He's not. Think folk are kidding. He's from Bathgate...probably a hun lol.

Tennant is an absolute hero, hope he's one of us.

Claims to have no interest in football and doesn't support any football team.

His grandad was a prolific goalscorer for Derry City and he's got relatives in Northern Ireland.

If his family history on Wikipedia is accurate then most definitely!

It’ll be Partick Thistle then (the team for anyone in the public eye).

David grew up in the Paisley area, his father was a well kent and popular Church of Scotland minister. He said before that he just never was interested I football but if he were to have a team it would be the Buddies.

He is a big fan of The Proclaimers- presented a show about them on BBC Scotland. Probably just as simple as that.

I've always found him irritating too, in a similar way to Alan Cumming (aside from his phenomenal turn in Cabaret).

For some reason I thought he was a Rangers fan.

I think you're right. :agree:

I thought he was a Hibby based on his biography, but just read some of it again and it isn't what I remember. (Funny how memory can play tricks).

I think you're right. He's not interested in the football at all, but grew up in Bathgate from an ulster-Scot background and has been a big fan of The Proclaimers from a young age.

Might have been born in Bathgate but most certainly grew up in Paisley!
Paisley Grammar old boy, even has a place in the Buddies walk of fame in the town.

You may be right. I like David Tennant in any case. Seems like a great guy with a huge social conscience, despite his high profile.

I think he's a great actor and have no problem with him, brought up in Paisley, dad a Scottish minister, big Proclaimers fan, that's why SOL, seems to rub some people up the wrong way....all about opinions I guess, he isn't on Badenoch or Rowling's Xmas card list, so that will do for me 🤣

Watched this today before I left for work, which was with a both neurodivergent and learning disabled young person. So, just want to thank you really, Scouse Hibee, for sharing this, it was another source of inspiration I’ve encountered the last wee while, after a little bit of a challenging time recently for me.

Remember the Liverpool fans in the 60s singing Beatles songs before YNWA, imagine if they hadn't adopted YNWA and went with a Beatles track.

I apologise if I contributed to that. It wasn’t my intention, I honestly just commented as I saw it, after watching it today, and meant it kindly to all when I shared.

Perhaps this isn’t the place, or time. My mistake, in place, and time. Sorry Scouse for derailing it. Not intended at all.

My nephew is Autistic and sometimes struggles a bit but I REALLY wouldn't want to be questioned (grilled) by him in public, he'd make it seem like an interrogation. 😀
