Really enjoyed Cap'n Joe on the co-comms today. Marv, Joelle and others are good but interesting to hear someone from the current team. Some amusing chat too about Triantis and offering Jamie McGrath a lift on the team bus.

He walked round the pitch before the game to the gantry which was above the "stand" (dump) we were in. He got a great reception 👏

Thought he was very good, great insights into Hibs training/formation/tactics/players and very funny as well.

Yes, said that Chris Cadden had barely slept in recent nights due to a sickness bug causing diarrhoea. Joe said that Chris waited until Saturday morning before confirming if he was fit enough to play.

I disagree. JN was really good but I always appreciate Joelle and Stuart Lovell. They are both very insightful.

Lovell is murder. Speaks more than the main commentator. Usually change to a different club tv when hes on away games.

Yup and a great ambassador for the club when on Sportsound and Alba. Speaks well and fluently. I think she’s got a talent there. She doesn’t from memory just trott out the tired cliches either.

Rob McLean over on Red TV was absolutely shocking Aberdeen were world beaters every ball out of play and every foul was their’s barely mentioned Hibs
My mate could not believe it was the same impartial neutral commentator that used to work for the BBC

He's never hidden his undying love for Sheep, even when doing BBC stuff.
Did he do live commentary? I just recall him doing obvious retrospective voice-overs on highlights.

Yes his bias is embarrassing

He's an Aberdeen fan commenting on Aberdeen TV. What else were you expecting?

Don’t expect him to be disputing an obvious throw in for Hibs miles from the Aberdeen box it was embarrassing
Boyle gets fouled he dived
Shinnie dives silence
Yes I expect Rob McLean and Richard Gordon to be biased but this was another level my Hibs TV kept doing the circle of death and was minutes behind play
The two Hearts boys are biased but fair
Whatever happened to that Canadian/ North American lad from North Berwick who did Lucerne away he was decent and well informed ?

He goes above and beyond to be honest. Pretty embarrassing imo. Many of the club tv commentators are of course biased to some degree but still reflective enough to be fair about it. Imo one of the best are the commentator particularly on Hearts

Aberdeen TV has always been really biased, probably the worst of the club TV channels, even before McLean was doing it. Remember watching a European game on it a few years ago. They were seriously wanting opposition players arrested for assault for 50/50s, calling officials corrupt for giving throw ins the correct way, etc.
Even Rangers TV isn’t as bad as them

Thought his comments on Shinnie were amusing.

I thought Newell was very good. Insights such as Chris Cadden being unwell prior to the game, knowing our gameplan and his opinion on Shinnie’s diving were a breath of fresh air. Funniest moment was when he admitted being clueless about one of SDG substitutions ( I think it was when Myko came on for Chris Cadden).

Always think it is a tricky position for a current player to be in but from what I heard JN handled it well.
Had to turn over to Aberdeen TV because the ridiculous delay in the sound on HibsTV made it unwatchable.
