Just to cheer us up! Dundee won at the pink bus shelter today, the biggliest team in the world are only 5 points away from another relegation/demotion!

Officially a Ross County, Kilmarnock and Dundee supporter for the next 4 games!

Think it’s going to be very difficult for Hearts to finish 2nd bottom due to the number of teams involved. When they lose, other teams will do as well.

Without looking into it in too much details, Ross county away is probably the wrong fixture for them next week though.

Two losses and two draw would probably do it. Losing next week would be massive squeaky bum time for them.

Finding it hard to take pleasure in today after our own result though.

Not a chance they finish 11th

I thought that about us in 2014. In fairness though it is very unlikely

Not a chance they finish 11th

Ross county beat them at home next week and Dundee pick up minimum point v Motherwell and hearts are 2 points from 11th. That scenario is fact and with 3 games to go.

They're due a demotion. Been a few years.

Plenty said that about us in 2014. Keep losing and they've every chance of being in serious trouble.

Some good news for them today though. EK tonked Brora 4-1 in the first leg of the League 2 play off qualifier, so it reduces the chance of them having an embarrassing reminder when they're scratching about down there in 2027.

I think Hearts are in danger of sleepwalking into trouble. There was an almost universal acceptance that they weren't even in the play off conversation. They definitely are now, even if only for a week.

They aren't the worst team of those in playoff contention but they are struggling to score goals at the moment, don't seem to have many guys you would want in the trenches with you, have a manager who seems a decent enough guy but isn't up too much tactically or in a motivational sense and lack leadership.

Lose next week and it will be real squeaky bum time for them.

They will have the Bonnyrigg Rose 'Midlothian derby' to get the maroon blood pumping through the shirt you cant see a bloodied turd on, or something. One of the world biggest atmospheric derbies.

The same thing happened to us in 2014. Just need one more win, just one more, just one more...

If results go against them next weekend, Killie will be above them, Dundee level and Ross County 2 behind. Of the teams in the mix, they're the ones less equipped for a relegation battle imo.

I said that every single Saturday when we were waiting for the one last result needed to keep us safe when we went down

It would be incredible if they got dragged into a play-off but that's really unlikely. Scraping enough points and keeping Critchley will do for me.

They must have been genuinely worried about it! Think they’ll be fine now, unfortunately.

I don't understand what you mean by they'll be fine 'now'. They lost again today and their league position has got even worse.

Edit: Scrap that! Just saw the news about Critchley.

I think today's result and the sacking of Critchley will be the wake-up call they need to drag themselves out of it.

Yeah apologies mate. I probably should have added a Critchley reference in my post rather than leaving it a bit cryptic.

You're right that they must be in panic mode about relegation.

Even funnier now if they were to end up in the play-off..

If they get beat next week they really are in a fight, no two ways about it. That would have them three points, at best, above the playoff position.

Next week is huge for them. There are similarities to us in 2014. One win, one win, one win. Aw naw, too late.

Next week:

Dundee v Motherwell
Ross County v Hearts
St Johnstone v Kilmarnock

Assuming wins for teams in bold, Hearts would be on 40 points ahead of Dundee (40 points), Kilmarnock (39 points), Ross County (38 points) and Saints (30 points).

Week 36:

Hearts v Motherwell
Kilmarnock v Dundee
St Johnstone v Ross County

Assuming wins for teams in bold, Hearts would be on 41 points ahead of Dundee (40 points), Ross County (41 points) and Saints (30 points).

Week 37:

Dundee v Ross County
Hearts v St Johnstone
Motherwell v Kilmarnock

Assuming wins for teams in bold, Hearts would be on 44 points ahead of Dundee (43 points), Kilmarnock (42 points), Ross County (41 points) and Saints (30 points).

Week 38:

Kilmarnock v Hearts
Ross County v Motherwell
St Johnstone v Dundee

Assuming wins for teams in bold, Hearts would be on 44 points ahead of Ross County (44 points) and Saints (30 points).

A win and a draw should be enough for them. Anything less and they deserve their relegation play-off.

There is not a chance of such a big club as The Famous, with the huge fanbase and sizzling atmospheric stadium being relegated for a third time in 11 years.

It’s just not what big clubs do.

They've lost four and drawn one of their last five games, scoring just one goal in that time. Don't think any assumptions can be made about them.

It’s just not what big clubs do.3 in 7 or 8 in the late 70s and early 80s. They have form....

From memory it's between Hearts and Dundee for the most relegations from the top flight in Scottish football.

Let's hope Hearts have broken the tie after this season is over.
