Since the start of this run there have been some fantastic individual performances. Who, in your opinion is deserving of the Player of the Season award? You can also reply with your Young Player of the Season award pick.
I have limited the list to those that many will consider to be candidates for their performance throughout the season, but especially since the Aberdeen 3-3 game in November. There are other good candidates but they have not played as many minutes as those selected or been as influential. So a special mention for Smith, who has been excellent but hasn't had a lot to do in many games because of those in front of him, Levitt, who has only recently convinced many what a great player he is, and Bowie for his recent goal activity. Also, for Campbell, Hoilett, Gayle, Obita and Chris Cadden.

It’s a shame that only one of them will win the fans player of the year (The players player of the year could be different) because I wouldn’t want the final say on that list.

Rocky. Leader, charisma, goals, defensive stalwart.
But Boyle, Bowie, Iredale, Nicky, Triantis even Jordan Smith wouldnt be a selection i would have any issue with. That’s a mark of the season, consistency and quality across the side
Just as an aside, i always think we should vote on this at the final week. All sorts of craziness could happen in the last 5 games, 5 kieron bowie hattricks might swing it for me!

Its a difficult choice but it has to be Bushiri for me. He has gone from being ridiculed by opposing fans and a figure of fun in sections of the media to being a rock in the middle of that back three. The foundation of our fantastic unbeaten run in my opinion.

Iredale has surpassed all expectations of him. He's exactly what you want and need in defence. Solid, reliable and consistent.
Id go for Nicky Cadden though. His crossing is up there with one of the best I've seen from a Hibs player. First time in a long time there's probably 5 or 6 credible contenders.

Really struggling with this. Think Nadden, Iredale and Triantis are all worthy. Have to add Boyle in there as well. Rocky and Smith not far behind.
Great to have plenty players in the mix rather than such a clear standout as the past few seasons have been.

As others have said, there are lots of candidates this year, which is brilliant and a huge contrast to the last few years.
My shout has to be for Rocky, our problems in the first part of the season was not hanging onto leads and making unenforced errors at the back. These have all but been eliminated now and major factor in that, in my opinion, is Rocky who has been immense and as again as others have said, have proved doubters and the media wrong. He is absolutely immense.
Fair to say it was a close run thing with Iredale, Triantis, and Nicky.

Really tricky as you have to think about the whole season not just the run. Triantis and Boyle both get some plus points for contributing in the pre-run period. The other contenders for me would be Iredale, Rocky and N. Cadden all of who came in at the end of the poor form. If the choice was who was the biggest catalyst for our change of fortune it would be Nicky Cadden for me followed very closely by Rocky but Cads has missed quite a few games in the run. The season has been about being a team though so I would consider not having an individual award to continue that theme.

Such a difficult decision. I've gone for Iredale. His record in the team must be ridiculously good.

Jack Iredale does it for me. It’s his consistency that allows Nicky Cadden to be so effective. Does the same for Obita but I think the most impressive was when we saw him encourage and school young Gillie through is debut v Clydebank. Iredale spoke to I’m constantly and helped him enjoy an impressive debut.

As one who was not his biggest fan, I have to say Rocky has one me over and would vote for him. He has even added goals to his game so in my opinion deserves the award. Great to have so many contenders though as many have said.
As we have a young players award which I think Rudi would be the main contender, it's a pity we don't have an older players award for Dwight and Junior to fight out.

I love Rocky to bits - I've been his biggest fan on here probably - and still regard him as our leader on-field with JN out. I also acknowledge that switching to the back 3 with Jack Iredale on the left was the tactical decision that ultimately turned our season around.
But for me, there was a specific moment when our season turned and that was when Nicky C fired in that magnificent time added-on free kick against the Dons and gave the team the evidence to back up the belief they had from SDG that they had what it took to break our cycle of despair. What a cracker it was and still is! Rocky drew confidence from that and showed his own prowess a few minutes after. Nicky C has been a pivotal performer time and time again and his crosses have been a real point of difference between us and the rest. I'd place him in a class of his own in Scottish football. Next to Franck and Alan Gordon he has - for me - probably been the signing with the biggest immediate impact in my 66 years.
But, I must admit, Rocky is a hero and a close-run second this season for me and I'm delighted he gets the vote from so many here. I will be very, very disappointed if we can't persuade him to stay. Like in that old song, Big Bad John, he's a big, BIG man.

Can make a strong case for all listed, but it’s Rocky for me.
From starting the resurrection of a season many were already starting to write off with the last gasp equaliser against Aberdeen, to be that first name on team sheet pick at the heart of the defence for the duration of the turnaround and has been very much a talisman and leader for the side.
With his name ringing round the stadium as the whole ground sang his name on Sunday, there would be few complaints if he picked up the award.

Unusual, given the last couple of years, having a number to choose from.
I went for Rocky.
We have to take it back to the point when our season changed around November. This is when we saw Rocky, Iredale, N Cadden & Smith come into the side regularly. It's no coincidence the turnaround happened when all these guys came in.
Everyone on the list would be a genuine Player of the Season.
Rocky has got his errors down to a minimum and has shown the bottle and desire to shut up his detractors, even me.
He could make an error in the next few weeks, all of them could. But Rocky has been the catalyst for the change in our fortunes and you can tell the whole squad recognise what he brings.

Bushiri for me, although Iredale has probably been his equal. Whilst Iredale has played as well, I feel like Bushiri brought the character and spirit that embodies this team into the team when he broke into it, so his "x factor" sees him pip Iredale.
I'd have no problem with it being any one of five or six, strong cases can be made for a few.

Voted Nicky Cadden but a close thing with Jordan Smith. I'd have named Smith over Miller in the names listed. Miller has come on to a game being moved into the three(which he was not when we changed set up) but Smiths been at it (albeit with a couple of rough moments) since he's been in and made a number of excellent saves along with the stuff you'd just expect a keeper to deal with.

Top 3 for me would be Iredale, Cadden and Boyle in no particular order. Iredale has hardly put a foot wrong since coming in, Cadden has added something totally different and I think the contribution Boyle has made has almost went under the radar a bit because he’s been here so long.
Last 5 games to see who it goes to.

With the way the season has completely turned around, this is a real tough one but I’ve gone for Rocky. At the start of the season the jury was very much out on him and he looked to be in the way out, but since he came back into the team he’s been immense. Solid as a rock, commanding at the centre of the defence and full of confidence as the games have gone on.
He’s also added goals to his game which is a real Brucie bonus too, and not just random goals either - the equaliser v Aberdeen which stopped the rot, the equaliser v the Huns when the game looked gone and his lovely finish at the weekend, a goal a striker would be proud of.
By the way I hate this stuff quoted about ‘oh Rocky, he’s got a mistake in him’. Every player in every position has a mistake in them. Boyle wasn’t slaughtered for missing penalties earlier in the season, Kuharevich got off lightly when he hit the post on Sunday when he could have scored. Midfielders misplaced passes all the time but get away with it. Rocky has improved massively and deserves huge respect for improving his game to the extent he has.

I put Triantis but it's a really hard pick with Rocky, Nicky Cadden, Iredale and Boyle all great shouts for player of the season. I've picked Triantis as the ever present in our midfield - he's played just about every minute and given us continuity there - putting in some storming performances to help dominate the middle of the park.

He epitomises everything that is good about our football club right now and comes across as a really decent young man as well.
Honourable mentions to just about everybody else to be honest but particularly Nicky Cadden, Jack Iredale, Nectar Triantis and Jordan Smith although you could make a case for 2 or 3 others.

I can't remember a season where this has been as difficult to decide.

Isn't it wonderful that this is a difficult choice for all the right reasons. Really harsh that Jordan Smith isn't named in the list as he has had just as big affect as many of the outfield players. I can't split Nicky Cadden, Triantis, Iredale and Rocky... but wouldn't be upset if Smith or Boyler got it too. Chris Cadden has been excellent as well... and most improved might go to Dylan Levitt or even Lewis Miller. Maybe the whole point is that this seasons success hasn't been about individuals, it's been about a collective. :agree:
They should give player of the season to "Sparticus" and then each member of the squad takes it in turns to stand forward and say "I am Sparticus" (well maybe not Bursik )

This is so true. There are a whole bunch of top performers who could be POTY such that it just doesn't feel right picking only one.
Even moreso impressive has been the performances of those who have been in and out and/or appearing off the bench. They have been brilliant too which has massively contributed to our success. Whenever someone has dropped out their replacement has dropped in seamlessly such that you barely even notice. Fantastic squad performance all round.

Rocky for me too, he's been immense since we started this run we're on, and chipping in with the odd goal too. Think he's only been booked 3 or 4 times too so he's really cut out silly mistakes and shown great disclipine, fair play to him for such a massive turn around. Great to have so many players consistently churning out good performances though.

When Smith came in as no1, he had a few shaky games but has been a vast improvement. Rocky was introduced back into the team and has had few “oh no” moments and been a dominant force in the team. Nicky Cadden has been terrific, Jack Iredale made a difference. The defence was basically sorted, allowing our attacking threat to dominate at times up front. When we couldn’t, the defence done whatever needed to be done, and done it well. This has been a collective effort from the team, but Rocky is the man that turned it around.
He’s the man.

Such a hard one. It’s between Triantis, Iredale, Rocky & N. Cadden for me. Others such as Boyle and Chris Cadden, lately Miller have all been consistent and worthy of praise as well.
I think Triantis qualifies for young player, so he should win that.
Nicky Cadden has unfortunately been out injured for a couple of spells so that works against him a little in terms of minutes played. That doesn’t diminish his role in the original turn around in results though, his form was pivotal.
So that leaves Rocky & Iredale - both were absolutely key in the mentality shift. I remember Iredale started at the near fatal Dundee away game, Bursik was trying to pin the blame on him for a bad backpass that led to a goal. It was Bursik’s mistake to own and Iredale let him know about it which I liked, others around him were looking beaten but probably because that was his first start, he looked really angry and motivated to get us out of the mess.
He then started against Aberdeen and looked relaxed, a bit gallus. He was confident enough to play the type of pass that a lot of our turn around has been based on, missing the midfield through bodies and sticking the ball at the strikers foot, allowing us to then get our wing backs into play higher up the pitch and midfielders in the box. His confidence and attitude pulled others up around him, and there’s no lack of quality in defence either!!
Rocky - what can we say. A lot of the above counts to him as well. His attitude is infectious. I’ve been critical off him in the past for his positioning and heading ability. How funny is it that Rocky’s resurgence has basically vindicated Lee Johnson’s 10k hours of coaching comment on Rocky. I think we’re seeing the benefits of that now and I really hope he’s here next year. His ability to defend 1v1 against strikers has also been pivotal to the way we play and allows us to throw bodies forward.
When pushed I’d probably land on Rocky, the big guy deserves it for coming through the adversity he has, to now be first name on the team sheet.
