Love the fact the double save against St Mirren is included. As important as any goal we’ve scored on this run.

Honestly don’t think this run will be as appreciated as it should be for a long time. It’s once in a lifetime stuff and that video is different gravy.

Been an absolute blast aside since the 3-3 game against Aberdeen.

That video sums up the run.

7th of December was expected, everything since in the league has been above and beyond.

Wonder what the Black Knights are thinking?

RE the Black Knights. It would be good to hear some positive words from them now. Foley was quick to have a pop when things weren't going so well. I have always been very cautious about their involvement and it left a sour taste in my mouth. Is he happy we are doing so well or bitter as he was shown to be wrong?

Its a recreation of a scene from the film Moneyball where the team in the film also go 17 unbeaten

18 unbeaten... because we haven't actually broken it, just equalled it. This would then set a NEW record

I'm baffled as to why we didn't pick up a lot more points before " the streak "

Especially the way we've played since the 3-3 draw IIRC against the Sheep

Ah ok.. so 17 is the biggest unbeaten run in any season in the past 150 years? The headlines all suggested the previous 77 years. I think I read or was told we went 24 games unbeaten over 2 seasons…

24 unbeaten over 2 seasons during WW2, so wasn’t technically the official league as it had been paused due to the war (info courtesy of Scotland coefficient on Twitter).

18 would equal this seasons longest run currently held by Celtic from the start of the season to the new years derby at Ibrox.

Silly mistakes mostly. Bar a couple of games, our performances in the majority of matches were good until we did something mental like getting red cards (Dundee United, Motherwell, and Dundee are all games we lost when ahead after getting a man sent off) or giving away late penalties or conceding late on from avoidable situations (first derby at Easter Rd, for example, but also Dundee at Easter Rd and another game early on where we were winning and conceded from a throw in into our box, can’t remember the team that scored it though!).
Mental referee decisions as well, Dundee United’s point at Easter Rd came from a nonsense penalty when a similar incident wasn’t given for us.

We are better now, no doubt, but stopping these things has made a huge difference, the actual quality of play hasn’t changed *that* much.

No one could have seen this coming back in December.

A great run, sad it is over and we need to bounce back next week but defeat today shouldn't detract from how far we have come.

It's a 4 game shoot out now. Aberdeen are back in form after a dismal run. Both us and them have had very good spells and very poor spells over the course of the season. Whoever gets 3rd from here will deserve it, at this point the table doesn't lie. I still think it will be us.

Hugely proud of the team, disappointing day today but it’s far from catastrophic.

Third is still in our hands and I’m confident that the team will take this on the chin and bounce back next week.

Incredible run and one I’m proud to have witnessed and enjoyed.

Not the end of the world today’s result - still 3rd and a high possibility we finish 3rd if we bounce back.

Key now is to not dwell on the close game today but go and beat Utd at home.

Football is a weird game and it’s always good to have another game to move forward (unless it’s last game of the season!)

Confident the boys can still finish 3rd.

All good things must end eventually... well done for making history!

Disappointing to lose today but a bit of perspective is needed. 5 months ago when we played Aberdeen we were seconds away from being 26 points behind them.

The fact we are level on points and sitting 3rd, and maybe slight favourites to stay there come the end of the season, is truly remarkable 👏

Yup, not forgetting Dundee Utd.

Fair play to them, they've just plodded along all season quietly getting results. No great winning run, or total collapse.

Expected them to lose today, just as they'll expect Celtic to beat us and Aberdeen.

Impossible trying to figure out who will finish where, so I'm just going to enjoy the end to the season for once.

Pagan Hibernia
26-04-2025, 08:49 PM
Who knows, it might actually benefit the players to not have the run and records on their minds anymore. Now we only need to think about finishing above Aberdeen and Dundee United. Nothing else matters.

I'm confident we have enough about us that we won't do an Aberdeen and collapse after the end of our run. I'm no betting man but I'd tip us to bounce back against United.

The run has been outstanding.

Disappointed in us today and how it’s ended but we need to react next week. It’s now very clear what we need to do against Dundee Utd.

We are still in control of third, due to the run, and need to make sure we get it.

All unbeaten runs have to end, but it was great whilst it lasted. We were in deep trouble when it began; a relegation battle looked very likely. SDG and the squad have done so well over the past few months, let’s get third and push on. I hope we don’t fall away now.

I agree with many of the posts above, a fantastic run of games and something we will likely never see again. It's a shame the way we lost it but we need to bounce back now and finish strong.
