His left foot is an absolute disgrace
He whips it outside the full back and with bend which gets it bang on the strikers head

Agreed. Chris had a great game today but really good seeing Nicky back and supplying those lovely balls in from the left. I think it speaks volumes for the spirit of this squad and Jordan Obita that we haven’t missed this key man as much as we might have feared. I love this squad.

:agree: Great point. Jordan has been excellent filling in for Nicky Cadden, he’s clearly feeling part of the picture at Hibs.

What an excellent signing, saw him many times when he played for Forest Green and often using that wand of a left peg, delighted he has silenced his doubters, it took him a while to find his feet but no argument's about his form now.
When he retires we should have a statue of his left leg

He didn't look too out of place on right either, surprisingly, as he is so left footed. Was surprised to see him replace Chris as he had played very well yesterday I thought.
I didn't realise he had switched to left for cross for goal but as soon as you seen it on screen there was only one person that cross was coming from, quite sublime.
I think Obita is playing incredibly well, a couple of difficult defensive situations he handled really well yesterday and made a great tackle at one point, so will be unfortunate to drop out, but Cadden was on top form offensively and defensively before his injury, again a nice if difficult choice to make for SDG to make, although one where I suspect he will use both in many games by bringing one on.

Obita had another good game yesterday. Think he probably keeps the jersey just now, Gray doesn’t make changes unless he has to.

The amount of effort and running that Chris put into the game I'm amazed he didn't get carried off! He was like a man possessed.
The Obita/Cadden situation is going to give SDG a real headache. I wasn't expecting Obita to be this good when he came in and he doesn't deserve to be dropped but Nicky Cadden is, well, Nicky Cadden.
I'm not sure you can fit Iredale, Obita and Cadden in the same team.

Glad you mentioned Chris Cadden. I thought he was excellent against The Rangers and he continued that good form into yesterday's match.
Until recently, I felt we were weaker on the right hand side, but with Miller as right hand side of the the back three and Chris Cadden as right wingback we're much stronger now.
Special mention for Miller too. What an athlete he is!

He was only on the left at the goal because he had just taken a corner on that side. I was pleasantly surprised as well that he was decent on the right.

Just saw his numbers and I’m surprised he only has 5 assists (feels like it should be double that).
Not a criticism of him as anyone with a set of eyes can see the quality he puts in to the box. Something we need to be taking a bit more advantage of as a team perhaps.

I think we’re very lopsided when it comes to attacking. C Cadden has a lot to like about him, but he must have the ball in the final third more than anyone. He’s only got 1 solitary assist, and no goals, this season. It hasn’t mattered much given how well the team is doing, but a wingback who is more like a winger and has an end product, like N Cadden, is one of the first places I’d be looking to upgrade in the summer IMO.

5 assists and 5 goals is no too shabby all of them a valuable contribution to a tremendous team effort bear in mind he has been out injured might have been more
Why is it that left footed players appear to deliver more dangerous crosses than their right footed equivalents ?

5 goals and 4 assists from Gayle as well is a great return, we've had goal contributions from all over team this season. What a team.

If we get into Europe, having a couple of players of that quality for the same position will be vital. Clubs are often a victim of their own success as the small squads can’t handle the volume of games.

Yep. There’s always going to be players missing for whatever reason. We’ve had important players missing lengthy periods this season. Then you have others missing here and there, suspensions and so on. Having a couple of good players in a certain position certainly won’t be bothering Gray. We’ll need more of that if we end up in Europe for any length of time. Arguably his biggest success this year is that he seems to have kept the majority of the squad happy and they’ve generally took their chance when they have got in.

And why are good crossing lefty players always described as having a ‘wand’ of a left foot? Rarely a ‘wand of a right foot’ for righties

This is one of the most well-balanced Hibs sides I’ve seen in my lifetime, loads of good stuff comes down our right side, with Chris obviously playing a huge part in that.
Of course we always strive for better if we can get it, but he has been excellent.

That burst of pace first half to stop the ball going out of play and the way he drove towards the Dundee defence fizzing a ball into the box towards Hoilett was exceptional

Ach ET’s secret weapon was switching Arthur to the right to utilise his pace against dodgy left backs he could play both wings ( Sporting Lisbon)
Mickey probably more of a midfield genius a precision passer of the ball but yes with a wand of a right foot

It really was, and not much else he could have done there. I remember making a similar point about him earlier in the season, when the assist point was made back then - in the Rangers 3-3 game he put a pinpoint cross right on Gayle's head, who missed the chance. An assist only becomes one if another player can finish the opportunity.
Similarly, some assists completely meaningless. I remember keeping an eye out for Ross County highlights last season as Kenneh had one, and I wanted to see what he did. The assist wasn't even seen in the highlights, because (IIRC) he played a two yard pass for a player to hit a weak 30 yard shot that slipped through the keepers hands. The assist wasn't a measure of creativity, just a fairly meaningless statistic.
As such, I really dislike when assists are purely used as a marker for certain player's outputs. Is the player doing his job well, and is he causing the opposition problems? In Cadden's case that is most definitely a yes. He can run at players, overlap and make runs that make space for others. Gets up and down the park superbly as well, which is vital in his position. I bet opposition players find him incredibly difficult to play against.
He and his brother are pretty much complete opposites in terms of their strongest attributes, but Chris has had a really good season and I'm delighted that he's signed on again.

Was a brilliant piece of play seems to have a new lease of life since his brother arrived bringing energy and enthusiasm and no little pace
However, I am firmly in the camp of Chris needs to take a beat and look up more one assist and one goal all season should be more because he gets into great positions whereas Nicky is five goals five assists
Said to my mate on Saturday I bet when they were growing up Nicky was out playing football all the time and Chris was away for a run

Surely it's time to start him tomorrow.
He's been on the bench last couple of games and has come on, so must be nearly/fully fit.
I think we were too passive last week against Aberdeen. We were three points ahead last week but this has now been wiped out. Know we can't guarantee a win in any game, but I reckon the support will be more optimistic with a more attacking line up at home.
It's imperative we remain ahead of both Aberdeen and Dundee Utd. If we relinquish this, it will prove very difficult to get back into third again given 2 of our last 3 games are against the OF.

Obita has been very good since replacing him, also got a few assists
What I will say though, is that is think Dundee United will be hoping it’s Obita starting. Cadden is such a threat with his delivery and shooting ability
