Any takers on predicting the order of the last 5 games for the Hibees.
To remain in 3rd place..
I'll go for the cynical, let's make it a hard as possible selection from the spfl.
First up away to Celtic naturally, followed by a visit from the Huns, then of course away to the Sheepies, followed by home to Utd and finish with a visit to the pink bus shelter or St midden.
Celtic (A)
Rangers (H)
Aberdeen (A)
Dundee U (H)
Hearts/St Mirren (A)
Having said that we fear no-one, bring it on. :greengrin

No guess at the order but I really want United at home first up. it’s our most likely win and if we are sat on 56 points after 34 games, with Aberdeen still on 49 (can they play Celtic first please), then it’s very close to job done as early as possible.

I reckon we'll be away to Aberdeen last game as TV will see that as a 3rd place decider.

Hopefully Dundee Utd first, Celtic away last and it won't matter to us or them but chance for an upset.
Hopefully hearts are bottom six because we dont need the baggage of a Derby and an upset would ruin loads of good work.
We're more than capable of beating Aberdeen away, Utd at home and Rangers at home.

Wouldn’t say I was delighted by it but Hearts losing is never a bad thing.
If Hearts end up in the top six that’s potentially a problem as well. There’s only one game they’d be putting any real effort in to after the split. I don’t think Utd will take 4 more points than us between now and the end of the season.

There is always something funny about Hearts losing, but they still just need to beat a poor Motherwell team next week to get in the top 6. Just think having United 5 points behind us instead of 3 would have been a big thing.
I suppose actually an extra point for Hearts today would have meant that a point next week would have guaranteed them top six, whereas now they have to win, so there is that!

We’re effectively 4 points above them when you consider goal difference, and a home game against them to come. If we let them overtake us we don’t deserve 3rd.

Dundee united are awful. No chance they finish third, wouldn’t surprise me if they lose all five of their top six games

Said a couple of times I think Dundee Utd have really had a fair slice of luck this season but at the same time I don’t think we can dismiss them as having no chance of finishing third considering they are only three points behind us with an easier game before the split.

Goal diff is important, but its 3.5 points really. Assuming we both win next week, If they beat us for example (given how close all games have been its a possibility) they only need to get one point more than us after that to finish above us.

I agree completely.
A draw would've been the best result - would have made no difference to Hearts permutations for next week (they need to win, or draw and hope that St Mirren don't win), and Dundee United would've dropped 2 points.
But a Hearts defeat is 2nd prize for the reasons you say. And potentially a chance of a home tie for us if Motherwell get top 6 instead (I think?).

If Hearts had managed a draw yesterday then a draw at Motherwell would have done them, even if St Mirren beat Ross Co. Now they need to win, if St Mirren win.

If St Mirren get top 6 we’d be due to play them at home wouldn’t we?
Motherwell and Hearts would be away.
I’m not sure they would have us an Aberdeen as last game of the season. Think Police might put their foot down, they’ve had issues in the past when we’ve came up. I hope they don’t allow it as pittodrie away as a decided would be a disaster!

Would like St Mirren. They have taken the most points of us this season out of any team, but they aren't that good so we should be determined to settle scores there. The 0-3 at ER rivalled 1-4 at Dens as the season low.

Would put a sizeable amount of money on this sequence.
Much as the SPFL say it's done by computer, clearly they will manipulate it.
For example, TV games, league positions going to the wire, Rangers/Celtic league deciding game, that Aberdeen supporting SNP minister availability for his freebie, etc.

They had two bad results recently but the three games before that they’ve drew with St Mirren and beat Dundee at home while beating Sevco at Ibrox. I think there’s more pressure on hertz in this one with the fact Critchley hasn’t won many big games I wouldn’t rule Motherwell out of getting something either .

Other than Dundee they are the only team we have not beaten in the league. If we beat Dundee this weekend I would like us to get the full set.
So St Mirren for me. BTW they are only due 2 home games post split .

Right fixture boffins, get to work.
I make that we should have 3 home games against rangers, Dundee Utd and St Mirren.
I don’t think that can happen though as that’d mean we’d have had too many home games? Presumably one of st Mirren or Dundee Utd will be played away?

20 home games and 18 away can happen, I remember us benefiting from it in the past. No idea if it will work that way for us this split though.

Don’t think they’d want a team with a chance of 3rd benefitting over another though, could obviously be wrong! But it’ll be tricky to split the fixtures I think.

It’s worse than that! Someone posted in another thread, it can’t be a title decider, it can’t be a guard of honour, it can’t be trophy day and probably won’t be the midweek game. It only leaves 1 game week or something crazy!

I think Celtc are only due two home games and one of those will be the last day of the season. That rules out us visiting there for the first game since no club will have three away fixtures in a row.
I predict we'll play them in the final game.
