Yes but you missing 10% of your games bears no relation to say 1300 season ticket holders not turning up for every game..

I miss quite a few games every season due either holidays or other commitments. My season ticket is therefore not good value for money but having that seat for the vast majority of games is worth the hit. There will be loads of folk in the same position as me but they’ll all be missing on different days.

Yes but you missing 10% of your games bears no relation to say 1300 season ticket holders not turning up for every game.. It doesn't but from my seat in the West there are plenty of empty seats in the central area of the east even for the big games. The Derby is probably the exception. I'd say 1300 missing ST Holders on average may be an under estimate but it doesn't matter as the seats are sold and our ST sales have held up very well and look to have had a boost for next season with the perfectly timed campaign

It does.... if every ST holder misses 2 games each that would average out at an overall 10% + non-attendance over the course of the season.

Nobody is saying it's the same 1300 people - just that on average there are around 10% of ST holders not attending games. I would guess it's actually a bit more than 10% tbh (on average).

Dempster said that, on average, 15% of Season Ticket holder's seats were empty every game.

So a significant number of fans buy season tickets they never use? I can only guess these are fans who live a long distance away, possibly abroad, but who have the resources to put money into the club.

It might not necessarily be the same people every week making up that percentage.

I think he means that Dempster said for every home game we played, roughly 15% of season ticket seats were not used, not that 15% of season ticket holders never use their season ticket.

I very, very rarely miss a game but, of all the regulars around me, there is usually someone missing. Dundee game last week had plenty empty seats that it probably wouldn’t have had on a Saturday.

Me and my Wife had season tickets for many years but in the last 3 years we probably attended a total of 7 games, in fact we havent been to a game this season, we stay 10 mins from ER.

As a counterbalance to that. Me and my pal have had season tickets for many years, we've still got them and have been to every game bar about one for me and about six for him, including LC group games and friendlies, in the last 3 years, I stay an hour and a bit from Easter Road, but because I take a half hour detour to pick my pal up that becomes about 90 minutes.

At full time on a Saturday, but especially a Wednesday, I would give my left bollock to live 10 minutes from ER :greengrin

I buy a season ticket every year but work a shift pattern that works two weekends out of five. If the home fixtures don't fall right for me I can miss a lot of games or require a lot of holidays. I just see it as a donation to the club but it's worth it to keep the seats beside my friends.

Flash Ive had a season ticket for many years mate but life has thrown a few challenges to the point its not worth the expense if we are barely attending. We can afford the season tickets but because we are unlikely to attend many if any games we have decided to can it for the upcoming season.

We will be back though 👍

Do you think Hearts will win the ST numbers trophy for ‘25/‘26 or will we be parading it down Leith Walk?

More importantly, are any Hibs fans really that bothered either way?

Good news since it means they don't need to sack Critchley to persuade the gullible to hand over money.

And they don't have a track record of spending that money wisely.

I’m just happy their stadium will never be as good or as big as ours capacity wise. I’ve sat in home and away ends at the PBS - with uncomfortable tight seats. I also like how we don’t play on a horrible tight pitch which makes football look like a different sport at times.

They will have to spend millions to increase the capacity in a limited space.

We will continue to have larger attendances and probably improve our stadium further and training ground with an indoor pitch and private 1st team pitch while they continue to use Oriam and all its tenants.

In some ways I think there would be more entertainment to be had if Tynecastle had a few seats more than Easter Road. Imaging the lengths they would go proclaiming that? Be proper Hearts pomposity and boastfulness at its finest.

In the grand scheme of things, Tynecastle and Easter Road are two similarly sized stadiums in the same city, to cater for two similarly sized clubs and fanbases.

You have to remember they all bought STs to pump money into the club for it to survive. Additionally introducing the B category to take up the school end. We get those seats when we play there. Those ticket holders will get all the post split games as we won't be there.

I know a couple of ST holders in their 80s. Both attend as and when but physically, it's getting harder. Both will buy till the end but the next generation may not be as loyal with their cash getting pumped into an underperforming circus.

Don`t think Kicks For Kids are included in 25/26 numbers yet as plans not confirmed yet . That could mean a few hundred more if no changes to system ( alternative could mean fans being able to help others get to ER without having STs I suppose which would also help club while also helping fans who couldn`t normally get to games ) . Wonder if Category B season tickets for South Stand could be offered , especially if unnumbered so friends or relatives could join them as walkups at games .
