I'm looking for some very informal banking/financial advice.
Over the last year or so I've somehow found myself in a position within a community group that is not a registered charity.
We've liaised with the council and adopted an area of public land where we've planted a community orchard. We also host events in the local park (picnics/jamborees etc). We are constantly fund raising and investing in the local community.
Tonight I've been asked to volunteer as Treasurer and I've been tasked with arranging a bank account. We don't have a lot of funds so we're looking for someone that offers "free" banking. On top of that, to match the green credentials of the community group we're looking for an "ethical" bank but most I've seen only offer free banking to those groups with charity status.
Has anyone been in a similar position that could offer advice or even suggest someone that could offer such banking services?
