Given that the multi ball system was brought in to speed up the game & also stop players drying the ball with a towel why was the Killie player not booked in the 2nd half for doing the above.

You do know balls at the side of the pitch can still get wet? Killie were not time wasting so the ref isn’t going to book the player taking the throw

I think like most of the others rules and guidance, they are subject to change from week to week.

One way of taking some heat and scrutiny away from officials is by muddying the waters to the extent that nobody actually knows what the latest rules are.

I can't find the SPFL laws anywhere on this, but I'm guessing it's the same as the EFL.

The English Football League (EFL) has banned players from using towels to dry match balls for throw-ins. Instead, the EFL will introduce a multi-ball system to all its competitions for the 2023-24 season to increase the time the ball is in play.24

I did have a look and it seems like it is a rule so I did edit my post however I still don’t think Killie were time wasting or anything, most of the time when they were wiping the call they were 1 down
