I know we have a few keen cyclists on here so thought it worth linking to this event in case anyone has missed it. Good numbers were involved last year, a chance to get out and about with the gaffer and the opportunity to raise money for a good cause. What's not to like?

Thats brilliant, thanks PB. I fancy doing that. 50 miles sounds a lot but its the equivalent of the traffic free Tollcross-Ratho-and return to Tollcross route on the canal path( highly recommended on a sunny day with a pub lunch at the Bridge Inn halfway point) :greengrin which is doable even without a gel saddle.

I did it last year and it was good fun. Not a very bonnie route but it’s flat and mostly quiet in terms of traffic. Only tricky bit is getting out of Glasgow so make sure you stick with your group. SDG powered home on an old banger of a bike. No carbon fibre for him!

I photographed the even last year. Hopefully it will be the same as last year and you will be able to stand on the presentation area, with the Scottish Cup and SDG. This year I must remember to get a snap of me as I completely forgot last year.28644

8 mile trip along the canal to the pub, enjoy it and stay there a bit too long, don't want to risk falling in the water on the way back, get the alcohol-addled detour plan so badly wrong that it turns in to a 42-mile return journey, we've all done it. :greengrin

This is sadly not far from the truth :faf:
