Well deserved call ups for all three , especially glad for Triantis who has been brilliant for Hibs . I suspect you’re glad to Fred as wasn’t Greece looking at him too ?

Love to see it.

Feel Iredale was close to getting the nod too

I take such reports with a pinch of salt tbh.

The Socceroo coach watched him against Celtic apparently and was duly impressed.

Lots of selections in this squad I don’t agree with……too many A League players for my liking……hope it doesn’t backfire

He’ll be 29 in a couple of months. I don’t think that should be an issue, but maybe their manager is building a younger squad rather than bringing in 29 year olds for their first cap?

Leaves the way open for Steve Clarke to cap him for Scotland- who’s better?

Not delighted they're travelling to the other side of the world while we're chasing third.

Bloody Aussies, why don’t they stick to their own games like Aussie football and wombat throwing. Instead of poaching our players. Grrrr

As always, delighted for the individuals - but selfishly hate the risk of injury in the extra games, and the impact of all the travelling.

I did read the Socceroo coach was going to watch , big fan of Triantis and was delighted when we got him back which was probably down to Gray wanting him …

I don’t know anything about the A League players that have been selected but they have picked 3 good players from Hibs and could have had another one in Iredale who’s been consistently good since coming in .

Tom Glover, one of the keepers in the squad was also on trial with us back in January 2019.

I’ve grown to loathe Hibs players being involved in international football.

With the Australians there’s the travel issue, often disruptive through the early months of the season. We’ve lost a few games to the ANC with African players now. With Scots, international recognition as full internationalists often spells the end for the player as a Hibs player, as they then seem to think they’re above the club and agitate to be moving on shortly after.

Then there are the injuries…

On a personal level though, as you say, it’s good to see players’ efforts recognised in a way that must be meaningful to them for putting in a good shift for us.

Posh hotels and flying business class.

They’ll be fine.

Is Iredale locked in for Australia or can Scotland still call him up?

Not really the point though is it ? I think everyone is in the same boat with regards players on international duty, injuries and fatigue through travelling could have an impact on their return and not particularly helpful when we are chasing 3rd spot.

More than made up for by how much confidence this will give Triantis in particular.
