Noticed a post on X/Twitter today where someone has worked out how many fouls teams get away with before a booking. It's got some pretty mental stats, but the Celtic Park numbers in particular, are absolutely crazy.

The whole thread's worth a look but apparently, Celtic's fouls before they get a booking at Celtic Park is around 12. Their opponents only get 3 and half. So, on average, Celtic are getting away with over three times as many fouls as the teams visiting them before someone gets a yellow card - more than 8 fouls of a difference. I know possession, style of play etc. plays a part, but surely not enough to justify an allowance of 8 extra fouls compared to the Away team.

Nick Walsh in particular, gives Celtic double the amount of fouls compared to Celtic's opponents at Celtic Park. Explains a lot as to why we got 3 cards yesterday and had less fouls than Celtic. When you have a centre-half and two of your central midfielders on a booking less than 50 minutes into the match, it definitely changes the dynamic of the game and the way these players play.

Our player booked for a handball yesterday... 2nd half Celtic player deliberate handball, no card shown.

Trusty fouled bowie 3 times from memory yesterday, no booking for persistent fouling.

They think the SFA have some sort of conspiracy plotted against them, when in actual fact they are officiated 100 times more leniently than the rest of us. Just an absolute rotten football club top to bottom.
