View Full Version : It’s match day - Celtic v Hibernian

Match day has arrived, and the bumper travelling crowd and a full house of 60,000 definitely gives this the feel of a proper big occasion, and has an almost Hampden vibe to it.
Not driving today as we have a mini bus leaving at noon from our town and we’ll be gathering from 11 for some beers to set us up for the day.
Before all that though I’ll be first up to make the family breakfast before a walk up to Sunday Mass with wife and youngest daughter then after that it’s full on game mode.
The sun will be out and temperatures will be 15 degrees in Glasgow so the warm weather gear can remain in wardrobe.
Hope everyone has a great day :flag:

Lad has a game at 9:15 this morning. Then back home, get changed and head through.
Going to McDonald's for lunch then have a parking space on Melbourne Place, so it's only a couple of minutes away.
Absolutely buzzin' for this one. There's no better experience than standing, singing and cheering on the team we love.
As SDG says; these are the occasions both our players and our fans should eagerly anticipate.
Win or lose just do the club proud.

So what's the consensus on green scarves in Glasgow? You likely to get jumped or is that fearmongering?

Does feel like a Hampden feeling today. Used to going in an allocation of only about 800 who are predominantly ASTs by default as they number 500. Today, to go to Glasgow in a group of 7000 will make life in the corner feel different. Let's get behind the team regardless of the outcome! Get intae thum, Hibs!

Uhm, there'll be sixty thousand people wearing green today.
Anybody wanting to attack people with green scarves on is gonna be very busy

There is some motorcycle event on near Edinburgh airport at Royal Highland Centre so give plenty time for any potential traffic temp lights etc.
Going to be an incredible atmosphere and a Hibs fans need to be 12th man throughout - the team deserve all the support even if it’s a tough game - stay till the end and clap them off.
Sunshine on Leith at Celtic Park with 7000 Hibs fans singing it would be amazing.

Got a feeling we’ll do it today. Cmon Hibs!
Just waiting for train at Larbert.
Wife away to mass.
She is a Celtic/Hibs fan.
She wished me luck and I said
"Well then" ??
Her answer "May the best team win"
Classic.😁

Whatever happens, I hope the support stick with the team and show “the greatest fans in the world” what a proper support looks like.

We will most likely lose, I think we can all understand that but you never know.
To me the important thing if we do is that we don't let it derail our magnificent league form.
If we get beat today then surely Celtic will go on to lift the Cup so 3rd place is everything.
If we win today we will just have to win the Cup and finish 3rd.

If we beat Celtic today then cup winners get Europe so I’d suggest we fully focus on the semi and the final

100% - not often Hibs take this many fans to Celtic park or any away game so definitely make the most of it.
This isn't about the “singing trophy” but an appreciation about how well the team have done in recent months.
Have fans have shown at Villa the great support they can give and expect the same today.

We need to last the first 10mins without conceding
We’ve an awful habit these days of conceding there within the first 10mins

Keep it tight at the back and in midfield and try and expose their high line with Boyles pace, Myko done well minus the finishing which is the key part last time out there, probably be Boyle and Bowie again unless there is a surprise Youan start which I don't think will happen.
Definitely has the big match feel to it.

As long as we are still in it by halftime. Stick with the team throughout. Their fans will get nervous and turn.

If the team and fans turn up and give it our best that’s all we can ask for. If we fall short having put it all out there then so be it.

Radio Scotland’s Liam McLeod only 30 seconds into his prematch summary before mentioning THAT goal being chalked off a fortnight ago. Surprise not.
