Didn't see this being discussed elsewhere, thought it worthy of a thread.
A Rangers fan in Turkey has died in the wee hours of this morning after being hit by a car.
Absolute tragedy for any football fan to not come home when going to watch their team. Looks like he had a wee lad as well.
RIP.

Tragic for the guy, his family and friends. Football is meant to be sporting entertainment and it’s awful when people do not get home safe.

A horrific accident.
Trips away supporting your team are occasions that fans look forward to and are meant to be savoured and enjoyed. They are not meant to end like this.

Nobody should ever go to watch the team and game they love, and never come home to their family, no matter what colours you wear. RIP and heart goes out to the guys loved ones.

It's an awful thing to happen. Condolences to his family and friends.
I never really get the 'nobody should go to a football match and not come home' line though. Tragic accidents happen every day whereby people don't come home, whether that be on holiday or at work. Same goes for underlying health issues. The fact that somebody dies watching a football match, or on their way to one, doesn't really carry added significance.
Of course I get that this being a football forum the story is of more interest than somebody passing away at, say, the cinema.

Agree with all that. For fans of any club. Not sure where that line started but everyone seems to use it.

We relate to it because its something we all love, and to lose your life in pursuit of it is a terrible horror. We all have family, friends, relatives who regularly attend football games and the thought of one of them not coming back from a trip to watch a game is horrendous. Best wishes to the friends and family of this man.

Possibly relates to disasters like Hillsborough, Bradford, Ibrox...where the awful death toll was down to negligence, not a random accident or health issue.

I hope the guy's family take some solace from the response of the players.
