Surprised it's not been mentioned yet, but earlier today Lee Johnson was announced as the Head Coach at Lommel SK in Belgium.
I can't wait until he's reenacting that Steve McLaren accent. 🙈🤣

A team close to the bottom of the Belgian 2nd tier with a ground that holds 8,000 with average home attendances of less than 2,000
What is interesting and what probably attracted the bold boy is the club is owned by the City Group

What’s even more interesting is the city group would employ the donkey.

He was already employed by the City Group before this. He was coaching Man City's youth team. Explains why he kept bringing up the City Group when he was here. Seems he was desperate to work for them

I second that.
I don't share the antipathy of some towards Johnson. I thought his brand of football was usually pretty entertaining - lots of chances created and when we were on it we were great to watch. I also found his interviews quite entertaining in a cliche bingo kind of way.
Definitely no hard feelings from me - good luck Lee!

Yeah. One of our better managers in recent times.

He was obsessed with them to the point that it was nauseating hearing it as a Hibs fan, thankfully went under the radar with other folk thanks to his other nonsense he spouted. He was clearly wanting to be in their setup in some regard and while this club seem to be below the level he probably aspired to be at I guess he's got a blank canvas to turn them around and prove himself.
I remember when he was announced or early on in his tenure he mentioned times about playing Man City and getting praised from Pep for the style of play or something similar. Just all a bit naff.

He was asked specifically about Pep's comments by the press. He didn't bang on about it. In fact it came up on here when he was appointed before the press got hold of it (as things do!). I don't think that it is fair to berate him for that
He did talk plenty of nonsense though.

Good luck to him. Far from the worst manager we've ever had and spoke very well of us when he left.

Did he not slaughter us and Scottish football and tell lies about us when he was appointed Fleetwood manager. At some sort of Fleetwood fan event or something. Was videos going about at the time I'm sure.

He'll fit in over in Belgium with the amount of waffling he does.

The interviewee Lee Johnson and the manager Lee Johnson are different animals. The first is the slick, corporate presentation guy, who bamboozles rich and pompous clowns who know nothing about football. The second is the individual whom players quickly designate a bit of a ham shanker and take the piss out of behind his back and eventually, to his face.
He's here!

Yep, just not quite the right fit and his teams were maddeningly inconsistent. Some very good wins during his tenure but it never felt as though we were going to make significant progress with him at the helm. I've no issues with him.

I do know what you mean, but he was definitely a guy that dined on the City Group links and wasn't short of mentioning it himself when possible in my opinion.

We certainly were inconsistent but at the same time the 5th place finish was an improvement on the season before and he did get us into Europe which I think didn’t help him in the end up as the squad wasn’t strong enough IMO to cope with juggling two matches a week …
Guy done his best and some of the results along the way were good , the 6-0 against Aberdeen is one of my favourites followed by this one …

No animosity towards him here other than wishing him all the best as an ex hibs manager.

Seems a lifetime ago. So much has happened since.
Very much enjoyed the Luzern, Hearts, Sheep and Celtic wins under him.

Couldn’t stand him from the moment he got the job.
He did more harm than good as our manager and just doesn’t have what it takes.

Bollocks. The harm was being done by the Gordon's. This we know. Perhaps Lee doesn't get enough credit for the results we got with that nonsense going on above him?

Well it's all relative, I suppose. But he was still abysmal.
