Does anyone have any information on Alassana Manneh, he was not in the squad, and I wondered how he is getting on, as looking forward to seeing him on the pitch, hopefully, if he is an improvement as suggested.

I think it was more a case of Levitt was fit and he knows what it's all about, so best option was to put him back in squad over Mannaeh.. but I'm sure his time will come

With Newell,Kwon unavailable and Gray saying Manneh has had two good weeks of training maybe a good chance he will be on the bench and we see him coming on at some point in the cup game ?

He'll definitely move up the pecking order again as a result, but my gut instinct is telling me that he'll be a bit part player until the summer as guys like NMW and Levitt have stepped up recently. He's barely kicked a ball competitively since November so he'll no doubt be needing to regain some fitness and sharpness again to hold a starting spot down at some point.

He will need to bide his time, I'd avoid throwing him in at this point. The squad have a cohesion and are fairly settled. He will have to make do with sub appearances.

I agree to an extent, I do think that we should expect that he’s been bright in to be better than the players we have though, so I think he should be featuring otherwise why sign him?

He may be better when up to pace. But as it stands we can't really afford to defend third and try to reach a cup semi-final with a guy that's probably still doing a bleep test midweek.

He's here!

I'll be surprised if we don't see him start to feature, possibly even from the bench this weekend. He got off to an unfortunate start but he was obviously deemed ready to feature that day so I don't think his fitness will be a major issue. He could prove to be a bit of a secret weapon as we approach the business end of the season.

Because he's most likely to have been brought in with a view to have him as a regular starter next season?

It could be utter folly to start him just now, and particularly against Celtic, based on his lack of playing time for the last few months. There's too much at stake right now for a view that he is better than the rest at this moment in time. He might be a better player, but that doesn't necessarily mean the team, as a whole, will perform better.

In any event, DG and his staff should be trusted with the decisions they are making. I'm sure when he's ready to impact the team positively, he'll get playing time.

The midfield will more than likely be the same one as we played in the derby and it will have to work extremely hard in this cup game just to even stay in the game so it will probably need freshened up at some point.

Which brings us to who we can bring on , personally I’m not much of a Dylan Levitt fan as I see him as a luxury player and I don’t think this is the type of game we can carry a player like him in , we didn’t use him at all in our previous league game there which has me wondering with Gray mentioning Manneh has had a good couple of weeks training is it more likely to see him at some point than Levitt in this game? I say this with having no idea what type of player Manneh is either TBH.

Yeah I don't massively disagree with your assessment of Levitt, although I think he's been impressive in games he's played this last month or two. He definitely suits games we play further up the park in which is unlikely to be the case on Sunday, but at the same time we might need to be a lot more clever with the ball too whenever we do get it.

Intrigued to see what we end up doing in the end but either way SDG has my backing on whatever he thinks is best, people questioned the Levitt for NMW sub on Sunday and I think that actually sparked the winning goal in the end, method to the madness.

To be fair, it’s about players taking their chance. Moriah-Welsh got his because Manneh got sent off. First time he was available, he got on the park and that happened. Although it shouldn’t have happened, Moriah-Welsh has arguably been our best player in the three games since. Triantis is nailed on and I don’t see Manneh playing in Campbell’s role. Then you chuck in Levitt who, since the turn of the year, has looked much better.

I think we will see the odd appearance of the bench between now and the end of the season but it’ll be next season before we seen much meaningful time I reckon.

At the time he was signed I wanted an upgrade on Kwon and a good stand in for Joe Newall and that is proving to be NMW.

It takes time to develop partnerships and NMW and Triantis look to be doing just that - I suppose what I'm saying is until it stops working, don't change it.

Off the bench, absolutely give him the chance in place of Kwon who is not of the required standard IMO.

If Newell was fully fit at the weekend would you change it?

Campbell has been poor in our last 5 away games so Manneh could maybe come in for him against Kilmarnock. We definitely need more creativity in the middle to help unlock the stubborn defences we face away from home.

Are we talking fully up to match sharpness? In that instance I'd be tempted, but I think NWM has done enough to keep his place.

Manneh is not a known quantity, but I know what Newall is all about which is the difference.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Manneh plays as far up the park.

Yup, I’d play a flatter midfield 3 away from home, our current system has been less effective in away games against stubborn defences with little space for a 10 to operate.

He was in the match day squad for our last match. I expect he will be in it again today and will get on at some point from an hour onwards for his home debut. All depends on how the game is going.

It looked to me, he’s terrified of getting sent off again. But also showed glimpses of what might come that big crossed pass was nice.

Good to see him get on and get minutes in the legs. One really good pass sprayed out to the left late on.

Seemed to hold the shape well too. Looking forward to see what he has to offer.

Getting a feeling that with game time and a better feel for the Scottish game, we’ll see an excellent midfielder. Likes to pass the ball quickly, and has an eye for a defence splitting pass as he delivered this afternoon.

Give the guy a bit of time. He'll need to adapt to the speed of the game but I think he'll be a huge asset for us long term.

I thought he looked rusty and struggled with the pace of play a bit to begin with.

Got to grips with it though and had a few notable contributions.

With a decent pre season I think he could be important for us next year.

Probably unlikely to get many starts ahead of our other options between now and the end of the season this season though.

Pretty much this, did play some nice one touch passes and looks to get stuck in, any minutes he gets until next season will be vital.

Youan was sat high up in the west today behind the directors box with a guy with CC on his tracksuit (Colin Clancy I assume). What I did find interesting was others who weren’t in the match day squad like Nicky Cadden were in their tracksuits however Elie was looking super cool in shades and his civvies. Has he just given up?

Terrible free kick too. Difficult to say much about him, had 20 minutes when the game was already done.

Wasn't impressed but tbh, can't make any judgements now.

I thought he did well enough when he came on, the corner was really poor right enough, but once he settled into the game I thought his positioning and decision making was good, he moved the ball on well and got stuck in - I do agree with the poster that said he looked terrified he’d be sent off again but only to begin with.
He smashed into a tackle just before the end of the game in front of the dug outs - physical enough to draw a “ooft” from the crowd.
I’d like to see more of him.

Yes, agreed with most of this. Definitely started to find the pace and feel of the game as it went on, and I'm not so sure that he won't play a big part in the run-in. But could depend on injuries and suspensions, we look to have a decent midfield now.
