Half time show World Cup Fibal

FIFA are working with Coldplay to have a half time superbowl type show at the WCF. Not sure it will go down well with us soccer fans. Maybe though Coldplay might do SOL at the half time show.

Just watch half time be extended to a half hour nearer the time, like Superbowl. More time = more money. Might as well split the match into quarters as well. 😔

Honestly don't care about any half time show, all WC or Superbowl half times are good for is refilling the snack plate and topping up the wine glass. Superbowl half time show especially is wildly overrated in my opinion.

If they want a show have 10 kids on the park trying to slot penalties past the world cup mascot .... or even better, have Donald Trump's public execution .... that should guarantee a massive global audience :greengrin

Was out with chris martin on sunday after the game. He kept getting up on the bar in robbies and starting songs. Eventually got chucked out and went to the Harp, but couldn't get in there, so just sent him up the road in a taxi.

I can never remember anyone being on the pitch at half time when I first started going. Maybe the groundsman forking damaged bits of turf.
If a player appeared to do a warm up then you had the excitement of a half time substitution.

I think now there are more folk on the pitch at half time than the during the game itself, and the interval feels like it's getting longer by the season.

I'm maybe old fashioned but I go to the football for the eh, football. I have no interest in pyro legal or illegal or Opera singers etc and can do without any half time entertainment. I also think football is about those at the game and everything should be geared towards them. As long as the 3pm until 4.40pm(those were the days) experience is unaffected they can crack on with adding value for those that see the "entertainment" as added value. I can't remember watching the WC final for a good few tournaments and couldn't even tell you who won them so I'm more bothered about it becoming a trend rather what happens at an event I would only watch from the couch. If they wanted to change the half time experience for the better for me then I would suggest returning to 10 minutes.
