Fair chance we've seen the last derby of Hearts 150th anniversary
Just like when the jumbos turned 100 (and Hibs won the 1974 derbies 3-1 and 2-1) their 150th has ended in Hibs being unbeaten in the derbies.
28 Feb 2024 1-1
27 Oct 2024 1-1
26 Dec 2024 2-1 Hibs
2 Mar 2025 2-1 Hibs
That's how you do anniversary derbies, well done SDG and team!:flag:

There's every chance there'll be another one this season. Not that it's anything to fear for us.

Good stat and one I will bring up with my Yam chums.
I must admit though, I don't go OTT with results regarding the Yam. I get more pleasure beating Rangers, not been many in recent years, which is more of an achievement. It is in my book anyway.

Yeah I think they’ll get top six. Their forwards will drag them through

No for me. Pumping the Hertz is 10 fold over any team.

There's still a good chance of 2 more?
With one being either the semi or final of the Scottish Cup...

It might open old scars that have healed over the passage of time.
Would prefer if Simon Murray put them out on Friday.
If we then dispatch Celtic great. If not, concentrate on getting 3rd.
However, if we do play them at Hampden then it is an opportunity to get some payback.

Imagine the carnage Nicky Cadden will cause to them on the wide Hampden pitch.

Hampden pitch looks much bigger than ER when at the stadium. Guess it’s the more open and larger stands

Unless I'm mistaken, we've never beat Hearts at Hampden(?)
TBF, we've only met there on a handful of occasions, but about time we sorted that

We need to start chipping away at the foundations of their derby superiority (in their heads at least). All those things their pub bores reel off to anyone who'll listen, won more derbies at ER than hibs, never beaten us at hampden, never beaten us in a major semi final or final, 22 in a row etc...
We need to beat them at Hampden, and we need to overturn that Easter Road record. Both are very achievable.

To be fair, it would be 9 in a row unbeaten for Hibs right now if it wasnt for the spawny last minute goal Shanland scored in Dec 2023 at ER (spawny in that Rocky's dealing of the high ball somehow landed right at Shanland's feet)
Without that moment we'd be sitting at 9IAR unbeaten in derbies

If we pull off what would ( lets face it ) be a massive shock and dump Celtic on Sunday there's every chance the last 4 will be:
Hibs ............ Following our miracle.
Hearts ......... lets face it they are favourites to beat out of sorts Dundee.
Aberdeen ..... If Queens Park can follow up putting out Sevco at Ibrox by beating Aberdeen at Pittodrie give them the cup now :greengrin
Livingston / St Johnstone .... Harder to call, but I have a sneaky feeling for Livvi in that one.
If that comes to pass there's every chance the heated balls will come out for the semi final draw ..... if Hibs and Hearts are kept apart then at least one of us has a chance of the final and if not then Aberdeen for sure. With no Uglies in the final it's a cert Hibs, Hearts or Aberdeen can sell 40,000 tickets for a final against Livvi or St Johnstone, so the SFA would still get their sell out final. But it would also give the sponsors a shot at the final they would obviously prefer at that point.

We've lost all four of the games we've played there against them, all this century. We need a ****ing win there.
The most recent was the 1-2 under Maloney - went 2-0 down very quickly, immediately pulled it back to 2-1, then battered them the whole rest of the game without scoring (including with 10 men after Newell was sent off). Absolutely sickening.
The one before that was the 1-2 with no supporters due to lockdown - they were in the Championship, we missed our penalty and they scored theirs.
The remaining two we all know and don't need reliving.

Green tinted specs stuff. Rocky lost it for us. A major weakness in his game that I thought we’d seen the last of. But sadly it seems to have resurfaced again in the last two games.
