Talking to a guy today who watched our game and mentioned the difference in the attitude and effort from the two captains yesterday, said Boyle was busting a gut and leading by example while Shankland looked at times like he wasn’t interested and mentioned his booking that he thought was bizarre and giving up in trying to stop Iredale on his goal . Never really thought about till he mentioned it TBH .

Think Shankland has decide he's off to pastures new at season end.

I never noticed at the game, but who took over the captaincy when Boyle was subbed?

Shankland played well in the first half but his booking was sheer stupidity which ultimately cost his team the game.
Had he not been on a booking he would have simply taken Iredale out before he could shoot.

Players who get needless yellows are being unprofessionals and it often costs them and their team dear later in the game.
A yellow should be treated as a get out of jail free card and kept until required like when Boyle played his on the halfway line yesterday when Hearts were breaking dangerously. Just took the guy out.

I said to my dad at the time if I were a Hearts fan I'd be annoyed with him that stupid booking.
Conversely, Boyle's booking was a "good yellow" which stopped them breaking and let us regroup.

I genuinely don't know what he was thinking. Don't think I've ever seen the ball kicked away quite like that. An absolute weirdo.

He'd even got away with one before it too.

The thing about Shanklin that confuses me is why are they playing a player who clearly knows where the back of the net is, in midfield?

He's been their top goalscorer since he signed for them, yet they stifle that and play him deeper?

Well done gimps. :greengrin

Almost as bad as giving Nicky Cadden the freedom of the left wing second half yesterday and doing nothing about it ?

Ha Ha Hearts laughable

Was shouting "foul him" right before he did it. Excellent yellow card to take for the team.

Iredale seems like he'd make a great captain. Can see him being given the armbands at some point.

Shankland gets booked for punting the ball into the east, Boyler gets booked for stopping a dangerous Hearts breakaway at the halfway line, Difference in mentality cost Hearts the game. We have nothing to fear when we come up against that lot.

What he done in kicking the ball away was crazy that put him in a position where he was walking a tightrope and it’s a good point that he couldn’t foul Iredale in a similar way to what Boyle had done .

I noticed the new hertz player (steinwender ) had a right go at him after the Iredale goal , not very popular with there fans in all and probably a strange choice as captain seeing as he’s wanted away . Where he’s going to go is an interesting one as I can’t see a lot of clubs queuing up to sign him now …
