I can’t help but feel equally as happy for Liam Craig as I do for SDG.

Brought into the club under Pat Fenlon, scores a few goals (including a belter away to Partick) in a CAM position. Butcher comes in, Craig gets played deeper and given the captaincy of a side managed by the worst manager in our history and nearly as poor a person (and I’ve spoken to the family member of a young player at the club at the time to be able to say that) and the poisoned chalice of that position drags him down.

I was never comfortable with the way Liam was treated by some of the support, he tried his hardest in a team led by a donkey.

Hes always come across as a good professional and been happy to come back for events at the club before he returned as assistant coach and I’m pleased he’s getting to share in the good feeling spread by our recent results.

Well in Liam, here’s hoping for more good times with the club going forward.

Funnily enough, I got that real feeling of being pleased for him when the camera focused in on him at full time.

My brother met him when he was the Hibs captain, they were doing a radio thing together. My brother was very complimentary about him, his attitude, his demeanour - at what was a very difficult time for him both on the field and off at Hibs.

Glad he’s getting another chance to enjoy some good times. He also came with a reputation as a talented but inexperienced coach. He’s likely contributed to the improvements we’ve seen in players and in a strong, settled and organised team emerging.

Always liked him never let us down as a player and went above and beyond doing his Hibs Captain duties in the Community chipped in with a few good goals as well

Didn't really work out as a player with Hibs, main memory of watching Liam Craig play was his constant arguing and bickering with referees, refs must have dreaded seeing him on the park!

He was treated a bit unfairly by a fair few of our support, though captaining us to relegation was always going to be tough to move on from.

He scored in my favourite ever game at ER (the 4-0 v Rangers) with an excellent goal so I'll always remember him for that.

Pretty sure it was his birthday that day , Met him in the club shop years ago he was browsing the merchandise and me and my kids were whispering like wee school kids wondering if it was him and he said yes it is me , Was happy to pose for photos and sign autographs and have a wee chat about the hibs , Kids obviously loved him for this and i thought he was a right down to earth good guy that took time out to speak to us , Top guy for me
