Apologies if this has already been posted. After their win on Wednesday, MS suggested that now hearts are in the top six, they now won't be out of it. Haha, that lasted all of 4 days🤣

He'll be absolutely delighted that we are 3rd. Criticised us when everyone on here was doing the same, he's praising us now.

Away man, I know a mate of his and he definitely will be.

Why are we wasting time discussing him anyway, let's keep positive :aok:

Michael Stewart kept getting shown up commentating on todays Aberdeen Dundee Utd game.

First he has a pop at Nisbet saying he looks a shadow of the player he was previously the following minute he scores a good goal to make the score 2-1.

Next he has a pop at Aberdeen for continually crossing from the edge of the box instead of going wide, said they had done it 70 odd times with no success. The next minute they cross one in from the edge of the box and score the equaliser, he was silent for a minute or so then said "what do I know" was brilliant and really showed him up.

Do we have an identity yet Michael? Unbeaten in 15? A shored up defense? Scoring goals freely? Beating Hearts back to back (and unbeaten in all 3 this season) beating a formidable Celtic team?
Take your pick Mikey boy.

I watched a bit of the Aberdeen - Dundee Utd match and he said about Aberdeen that "they don't have an identity on how to break Dundee Utd down". Walloper.

I don't think any of his criticism has ever been in bad faith. He talks complete ***** about Hearts as much as he does us.

It's a different story with idiots like McLaughlin and Preston but I don't get that vibe from Stewart.

There was a point (pre Jack Ross) when Stewart couldn’t speak highly enough about Hibs, his criticisms in recent years have had a foundation in how crap we’ve been season after season, hopefully now his tune will change towards us for the better, yes he’s one of them but I always thought his punditry was fairly honest about us no matter how we were playing, I don’t get the hate he receives much of the time.

Agree with this. He's one of the more balanced commentators. less afraid of speaking the truth than many of the OF apologists out there. He was quite rightly piling into Hibs and Hibs management over the last few years when all the criticism was fully merited. SDG has done a remarkable job which we are all understandably enjoying. As an outsider, MS will just take a bit more convincing that things have changed completely at Hibs. I've no issue with MS beating Hibs up, as it comes from a better place than most of the commentators who simply hate us.

Always enjoyed mikey stewarts punditry..The guy has always been pretty spot on about Hibs for me. Used to love his hatred of Craig Levein as well. Only area he annoyed me was his staunch position of defending Neilson when he was here , although that was probably spot on as well , it just niggled me a little because i wanted to see them toil as much as possible

Stewart annoys me sometimes with the argumentative stuff but the weekly podcast with Darrell Currie and Alan Hutton is always really good.
Hutton comes across really well and is always honest and fair.

Given their budget, they really shouldn't be bottom six, but they are because they've been honking, so tough ****, Mikey.

Fair point Mikey's making if he's saying that a club with 400,000 supporters shouldn't be expunged from the top subdivision just because they didn't get enough points.

I had to laugh when kenny McIntyre said they would be bringing on a heart supporter on to the programme later to be interviewed….couldnt they just save tax payers money and interview one of the many hearts supporting presenters?

Hearts and the their supporters are far too privileged at times. They seem to given themselves this self title of being the 3rd best, biggest and successful club in Scotland. Any Olympic/winter Olympics I ever watched I or no one else never gave two tosses about who got bronze. Their supporters should and cheerleaders should bare this in mind. When they sign Dandha and Spitroast from bottom 6 clubs what do they expect?

Eh… they ur Mikey [emoji102]I think he means they don't identify as a bottom six side.

I guess with identity being so important they just won't be turning up to play those teams now clearly identified as bottom dwellers with them.

Shades of Allisbarry (who I'm stunned/depressed to see is somehow still working for the EN) when he wrote something along the lines of "Administration aside, it's been a successful era for Hearts."

And the Hearts support were talking about how winning that game would mean relegating St Mirren as it was widely expected that a lockdown was coming and the bottom team would deserve to go down as it had had most of the season to avoid being bottom.

Then after Hearts jambottled it again, the same fans were suddenly opposed to relegating the bottom club despite that club being four points adrift after thirty games.
