How far off 100 Hibs goals now?

The run was perfectly timed and so was the finish. Obviously Iredales was more spectacular but Boyles was absolute poetry as well.

I’d be seriously considering a new contract for him if he keeps this form up

Taylor is meant to be quite pacy but Boyler gets the better of him , love the celebration too:greengrin…

His goal was brilliant. Think we all saw a goal kick before it hit the net, some finish at that angle. So frustrating to have it undone as quick as we did but he was massive in keeping us in the game and over the line eventually. Star man doesn’t cut it.

Credit to SDG too … I was thinking myself, as a fan this morning … play Gayle with Bowie … thankfully I’m not the manager … that was a fantastic goal by Boyle … totally took care of that hearts defender to make the chance to score .. and scored !!! 💚💚

It's a very good finish. Tight angle and running at pace. Not easy. Finished it brilliantly.

Brilliant finish and he worked really hard today. His form has dipped a wee bit lately but his work rate hasn't and he has a very good habit of scoring when we need him too.

Like him in the Captain role.

Takes responsibility by working hard in closing down the defenders and midfielders. Good goal when given a chance.

He was giving Miller a tough time for not passing when he went on his run to the edge of the Saints box, but lost possession.

Constantly demanding more.

Legend! Delighted to have him.

On course for his most league goals in a season

We need to get his contract sorted. Such a good player at this level who would be very difficult to replace.

A lot of goals to replace if we don’t renew

It’s a must sign situation for me now. He’s still a massive danger man.

Not cheap to replace 15 odd goals

That’s the biggest part alright and I’d imagine he’s great character to have at the club too .

A lot spoken about his wages and, with some of the figures mentioned, I get it.

But they need to weigh up how much it would cost to replace him. Be it a fee, be it wages or whatever. I think it ends up costing more and there is more risk attached.

8 goals and 3 assists in his last 14 league games is impressive.
10 league goals and 4 assists in total this season in 29 league games.
Martin has really stepped it up in the last 3 and a bit months.

He is 32 in 4 weeks and will be at Hibs for at least one more season.
The contract will be signed when the season concludes.
If we are getting group stage European football Martin will get another year at his current wage.
If not Hibs will want to offer him less and they will come to an agreement because Hibs will offer him more money than any Australian club will and after his last sand castle trip I don't think he will fancy playing in the likes of India just to get some extra wedge.

93/94 ?! I’m not sure exactly but I left today thinking, I really hope he hits 100 because he deserves it !

Better than ever. A Giggs-like quality about him (on the park, obv) in that he times his runs better as he ages and still has the blinding acceleration that can take him past pacy defenders. Definitely worth a year, perhaps even two.

Yesterday’s performance and the effort he put in was outstanding especially after travelling thousands of miles to the other side of the globe to play 2 international matches, it underlines his commitment to the club. Miller is obviously younger but he deserves praise as well.

Boyle has 94 competitive goals for Hibs, across his two spells. I really hope he gets to 100 this season, that would be some effort. Three of those goals were scored when he was a loanee from Dundee. They were still goals for Hibs though.

Still a cracking player, playing some really good football just now and hopefully we see him at ER next season, these are the types of players we need

But but but his legs are done and he’s lost his pace? Our best player and deserving of an extension. Great lad, top pro and would run through a brick wall for the coaching staff. Type of player you want in the squad and dressing room.

IMO that's one year too many.
A 2 year deal would see his contract end when he is 34 which is a good age to reassess.

What a player he's been for our football club. The only player left with a 2016 winners medal.

Will be delighted when he hits 100 goals for Hibs. A Hibs legend.

Either 2 or 3 I think it's logical to keep him. If his legs ever go and he loses a half yard of pace, then he could slot in more centrally as he is good finisher. I am still baffled how we managed to on to him as long as we did. I know he made a move to that Saudi mob, but only for 6 months.

I appreciate he left for a brief spell but given he signed for us in 2015 does he deserve a testimonial. I often think you never appreciate what you have until it's gone and he's a guy that goes out every week, gives his best, scares the opposition, scores important goals, and has just been a great servant to the club. I think he's sometimes underestimated and every team in the league, including the Old Firm would welcome him in their side. I consider myself lucky to have seen him play for Hibs. A top guy that loves a goal against them... what more can you ask for... star man!

I agree that a testimonial would be deserved and well received especially given the 2016 connection. Maybe that might seal the deal on a contract longer than the one year extension. The proverbial gets you off your seat player.

If Murray got one for a split 10 years, Boyle deserves one too. This is his 11th consecutive season with us if you count his initial 6 months loan with his few months in Saudi at the end of the 21/22 season.

There was a lot of chat last year about him wanting to move to Australia. Has that ship sailed, or still something that could tempt him away?
