View Full Version : Do you ever start a song?
We all appreciate the efforts of the crew who occupy the rail seats in the Famous Five.
However, when the Ugly Sisters or Maroon Mob come to visit, a fair racket exudes from the South Stand. It falls to the footsoldiers in the East to hold the fort.
At Pittodrie and Tannadice I stood in admiration when supporters around me made a point of starting the first line of a Hibs song. The crowd including me and my group immediately joined in and the noise flowed out from the stands.
We will need many such heroes tomorrow. The players so appreciate our vocal efforts so I'd like to take the opportunity of thanking those who do start songs.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
GGTTH!

Started a rendition of “We’ve Got McGinn” during the 2016 final, was really proud of that.
One of those ones that swept round the whole Hibs end.
I do have eyewitnesses to verify 😂

It would be good if, when a song starts in the East/West, the drummer didn't take over. It's always too fast and kills it. "We are Hibernian FC" is a good example. When it kicks off in the East, it gets snuffed out by the time change.
In the old East, in winter when the weather was crap and the hailstones battered the roof like a snare drum ...
I always started HAIL! HAIL! THE HIBS ARE HERE ...
Sometimes folk joined in. I always wondered if folk made the connection 😆

I started a “when the hibs go up to the the Scottish cup we’ll be there” in May 2016 during the wait for the presentation, one of the highlights of the day for me

When we go to hampden my mate always screams “HAIL, HAIL!!!” At the top of his lungs whilst walking amongst the Hibs fans. 9/10 it gets the full song going but sometimes it doesn’t and he just stops after it, which is very amusing.

I started “only the lonely” when I was around 15 when I turned up to a deserted Easter Road as I had misread ceefax and we were actually playing away, I think Aberdeen or Dundee, ****ing gutted, scarf around my neck and wrists, badges on my denim jacket and hibs bunnet on.

I once got the train up from Newcastle on a Saturday morning for a lunchtime ko vs Celtic, not checking ko times, and Sky had moved it to a Sunday earlier in the week:doh: I couldn’t understand why st clair st was so deserted:greengrin

As a very introverted person, absolutely not. Fair play to those that do.

The thread title almost sounds like a song in itself!
