Sheep and United about safe in 3rd and 4th

But anyone from 5th to 10th (arguably 11th) fighting for the remaining 2 spaces

Doesn't feel like it's always this close?

We never saw the net gain this weekend due to results but most of the clubs will still have celtic to play

A huge 7 days await.

United (A), Hearts (H) - minimum 4 would give us top 6 and a run at 3rd imo

Went into this run thinking 6 points from Celtic, Utd and Hearts would be a very good return. However, this weekends results probably mean we “need” a minimum of 7 points, but if we secure that we will be in a really strong position for 3rd. It’s very tight, but we remain best of the rest and should take a lot of confidence from that.

All about confidence and character now. Ours is good and I think, given our start to the season and progress we’ve made, that we’d handle the setback of a defeat well. We’re up for it in big games at home.

The inability to grind out wins from dominating positions in away games against sides below us (STJ, Ross C, ST M) is concerning, especially when you see Hearts take the three points against an 11 man St J today.

It’ll go to the wire though and our attitude has to be keep em coming one game at a time. Just get us in the top 6 room and I think we’d shine in those big euro slot play offs.

We beat hearts and we're top 6, perhaps a draw imo
They have St Mirren, Hibs, R County, Celtic, United, Well

ST Mirren have hearts and Celtic so lost points somewhere bellow us

6 games to go.

2 wins at home to Dundee and St J
1 game away to Rangers will take care of itself

3 cup finals away to Dundee Utd and Kilmarnock plus the home game against Hearts.

A big 6 days coming up.
Need to win on Wednesday to reel DU in and would be happy with a draw against Hearts.

I'm confident based on us not losing goals and quality players returning with others getting fitter.

My worry is, 13 games unbeaten for the 1st time since 1978.....what are the chances of that being 15 unbeaten? We're due a defeat. :panic:

Win the next two and we could be sitting 3rd in the table.

My worry is the cup game. Celtic have a record of coming back from results like yesterday. The kraken might wake and we get knocked off course like Aberdeen did. There is no room for error.

We've seen in the last week how VAR has changed games, and not always for the better!
It just depends on referees and VAR getting it right between them!
If we play with the same intensity in the coming games we should be better than OK.

Winning both at Utd and at home to hearts could have us in 3rd. Aberdeen play celtc and then Utd next week, so a defeat and draw there for them would be ideal, coupled with two wins for the Hibees. This week could be monumental in our season.

The cup game takes care of itself. celtc are not unbeatable as we have proved.

Utd have only won 2 in 8.

Feels like we are due a win away to them especially after the shambles of the last away game there.

The derby will take care of itself and confident the boys won’t let us down.

We need to beat Dundee and St J though at home.

Killie and Rangers away will be tricky but we should again be going with confidence I hope if we keep standards up.

Hopefully with Bowie getting more game time and maybe chipping in with some goals, Newell and Ekpiteta back to provide competition, Manneh still to show us something, Elie back soon :dunno:, NMW showing he can offer a different option yesterday we have more strength in depth and can push on.

A midweek of Celtic beating Aberdeen, st Mirren and hearts drawing and us beating Utd would give us the momentum for 3rd I reckon.

Hearts will be saying similar though.

Hopefully Rocky and Bowie came through yesterday unscathed

Worth remembering that because of our poor start we've had to be picking up more points per game to get it so close. Our form is better than Dundee United at the moment and we shoild go in as favourites.

I realise all runs come to an end, but I'd expected it to come stop against Rangers and it didn't, and yesterday when it didn't.

Derbies are a law unto themselves, but if we can get at least a draw there then we're doing well. Worry is that Aberdeen could be turning things around a bit so let's hope for best.

Fact - Hibs haven't won 2 league games in a row this year

Wednesday would be a perfect time to change that.

I can’t remember the league being so tight before, there is absolutely no reason why we can’t finish 3rd won’t be easy though.

Hibs -
Home / Hearts, St Johnstone, Dundee
Away / Dundee United, Killie, Rangers

Aberdeen
Home / Dundee United, Motherwell, Rangers
Away / Celtic, St Johnstone, County

Dundee United
Home / Hibs, Dundee, St Johnstone
Away / Aberdeen, County, Hearts

Hearts
Home / St Mirren, County, Dundee United
Away / Hibs, Celtic, Motherwell

Away / Hearts, Motherwell, Dundee

Looking at the above utds games against us, Aberdeen and hearts will be pivotal for them.

The only team to not face one of the OF.

Got to assume/hope Celtic beat the rest where we can hopefully make our win yesterday mean something given the rest winning this weekend kind of nullified it

I note 3rd placed Aberdeen have Celgers to play pre split and 4th placed Dundee Utd have already played both.

Win the next two and we could be sitting 3rd in the table.

Imagine we finish 3rd and get guaranteed European group stage for next season along with the financial rewards and everlasting memory making that comes with that. Just Imagine.
