Triantis is quickly becoming the type of player a Sunderland would try to sign from us. So prying him from them would be some feat, but we need to try.
For the first goal, I thought he'd send it wide left, but he spotted Campbell's later run from deep, and despite being a tight angle, had the foresight and touch to lay it neatly in behind for Campbell. What a pass!

He’s been amazing for us. Feel we may need to break our transfer record to sign him permanently.

He's gonna play EPL
The way he can glide past players with his running power is a joy to watch
He's not ready yet but Bournemouth should be signing him and loaning him back to us next year

Feel that the only chance of us keeping him is if Sunderland get promoted.

I agree but unfortunately it's looking less likely as the weeks role by.

Lost their last 2 after a decent spell. Should get back on the winning trail against Sheffield Wednesday you'd think.

Can see the old firm trying to sign him plus a host of other championship team
Don’t think we’ll see him back permanently unfortunately

I actually said that yesterday, he was head and shoulders above most on the park. Him and NMW closed so much down in Hibs half, and to be fair Campbell Bowie and Boyle were doing the same in the other half. But he just looked so accomplished and calm, his pass for first goal was superb and on highlights you see him looking up just before letting it go.
Only thing is there will likely be healthy competition for him, assuming Sunderland don't take it up, and the price may be more than Celtic would want to pay for a squad player which is where they would see him first. The other half of WeeGeeLand are dependant on someone putting something other than biscuits in their tin or won't be in any position to bid for him I suspect
Can honestly say I was delighted when he came back, but has really exceeded my expectations.

Would love to see him on a permanent but sadly can't see it happening, he's a great player

The only chance he’s back here next year is if one of these happen:
- Sunderland a promoted and don’t see him in their squad
- Bournemouth buy him and loan him back
- Sunderland are promoted and we get group stage European football and loan him back to be tested at a higher level.
Can’t see Sunderland loaning him back again unless we are in Europe. They’ll want to see if he can make another step up.

Credit to the player - and SDG who stuck to his guns to get him - and stuck by him.

Highly unlikely to be with us next season, so let's just focus on this one.
My immediate concern is the amount of bookings he has picked up. Does anyone know how far away he is from a suspension.
This will be pivotal for the run-in pre split.
I've done a bit of digging around. From the stats I've found Triantis has been booked 7 times this season. 10 bookings are needed up to the split (32 games) which would result in a 2 game suspension. So Triantis can have 2 more bookings in the next 6 games and still be will be safe.
From what I've seen that Yam Penrice is now on 10 bookings so will miss the next two games, ours included.
I'm not 100% on this though, so don't quote me.

Is he the first player since SJM to leave that has come anywhere close to having his drive and presence in midfield ?
The Caddens spoke about him with Open Goal - his attitude to improve and he knew he wasn’t good enough last season - plus say he’s brilliant in training - proper player they said !
Ideally Bournemouth buy him and loan him to us.

Think there is cut off point something like 19 games where bookings are scrubbed. So would need 6 bookings from then to get new suspension. I think that was the case last season not sure if has changed.

Moments of quality.
Quiet tonight but a brilliant pass through to Bowie.
His stats for an actual central midfielder are outstanding.
Also, loved how he had his hands up celebrating before Bowie had even shot

We should be throwing everything we can into keeping him.
I was sceptical about his shift from CB to midfield but it's worked wonders. Another SDG masterpiece.

Most teams seem to man mark him knowing he is our playmaker.
Difficult for him to get on ball.

Yep, and the selection of Nick and Lewis sends a positive message to any up and coming ALeague player that if you move to Hibs it does your chances of international selection no harm at all.

Sunderland fans right up there with Aberdeen for thinking their team is better than it is.
