I’ve just realised how utterly ridiculous that whole scenario was .. I actually thought initially that they must be looking back to see if Rocky had been fouled when he tried to shoot .. but also knew that’ll be nonsense, as that’s not what they do for us .. and lo and behold ..

.. and now on BBC I see the big display that VAR have decided .. possible Bushiri red card …

.. omg .. maybe it’s about time such clear false public accusations were penalised .. .. I know, will never happen .. but I’m f***** if it’s fair Rocky has that flashed on BBC public TV screen on a Saturday night … jeezo. The fact it was been considered in the first place is ridiculous .. and the fact a wrong and false accusation got any further publicity via the BBC national broadcaster … well .. you have to ask why BBC Scotland would stoop so low against a Hibernian player, when the accusation was proven as wrong.

You should see the thumbnail for the SPFL YouTube channel highlights video. It’s go Maeda celebrating his goal!! They couldn’t put two goal hero Campbell up there?

Same here, I was thinking that with a bit of luck we might get a free kick out of the tackle on Rocky trying to get a shot off.

I'm sure they got a penalty for a similar situation last year, Celtic player got a shot off the collided with the blocking player, who you'd expect to be challenging.

Similarly if Myko has gone for the ball with intention of shooting rather than perfecting the fall he would have got a penalty,

I was coming on to say this. I’m sure we can use all this bitterness to keep our run going.

I had no idea who was being scrutinised for a red card or even if it was a Hibs or Celtic one. Nobody around me had a clue either.

Just added to the general chaos of the afternoon.

I didn’t realise at the game it was a check for a red card for Rocky. I thought it was for a Celtic player but still didn’t know why.

Did you see the Bournemouth red card yesterday, wins the ball cleanly and his boot hits ball and rises upwards, yellow at most, ridiculous red by the ref and VAR. Lineker and Co all thought it was a poor decision.

Rocky's was similar, takes a shot and his boot bounces off the ball and follows through, all very natural, why they looked at that beggars belief, was he meant to break the laws of physics and stop his foot immediately he kicked the ball.

He's here!

As I mentioned on the Sportscene thread the commentator's take on it is daft too. Rather than say something like 'the replay shows there's nothing in that' he simply says 'but no red card' as though it was a close-run thing for Rocky.

On the live coverage the commentator also said 'of all people' when Rocky cleared off the line, the implications being you'd never expect it of such a clown.

We’re being very sensitive here. The commentator in highlights will often say things in a way that can lead to debate from the pundits in the studio and indeed there was no red card.

The “of all people” probably refers to the fact he charged down the pitch and threw himself at it despite being injured.

Same here. We had no idea what the red card check was for, who it was for or which team it was for. No one around us did either. Very bizarre.

Agree with all that.

Do you mean the commentary is dubbed on afterwards and he would deliberately say something like that just to prompt debate?

If that's the case it was an even sillier comment because it gave the impression that Rocky was lucky to escape a red when the truth is that it was crazy for VAR even to get involved.

Didn't see the match due to family commitments and the incident being discussed doesn't make it into the highlights I can view from Switzerland?

What happened?

Rocky took a shot and as his leg swung during or after the kick, he clipped the celtic plater. He was only looking at the shot but VAR made us wait 5 minutes

Biggest piece on nonsense I’ve seen, apparently a big enough talking point for Boyd to talk about.
They have to somehow justify, how unlucky Celtic were.
Hibs we’re the best team, and deserved to win, as simple as that.

The English and kids throughout the country could almost be forgiven for thinking only 2 teams matter.

What’s the 5 Ps of marketing - Product, Price, Promotion, Place, and People

in terms of place(ment) and promotion that’s poor for our clubs perspective from BBC. I won’t go down the politics route bit they clearly don’t have a consistent approach.

How many times have we seen VAR call for a possible red card for serious foul play when a yellow card hasn't even been issued? Ridiculous.

I got the impression it was Schmeichel advising the ref that the incident needed to be looked at and he/VAR duly obliged. I think Rocky tried the same after our penalty claim and got instantly booked. Presentation is everything!

I can simplify my view on the wording of the incident - I really, truly don’t care. The day I lose sleep over how a commentator decides to phrase a VAR check for a potential red card being complete is the day that I’m taking football far too seriously.

Biggest piece on nonsense I’ve seen

A player gets to the ball first and the defender arrives late and connects with him. One of the most ridiculous VAR calls ever.

Didn't Celtic get a pen for giving the decision the exact opposite way last season?

Last Hibs home match against Aberdeen, against Bowie. Again no one in the stadium had a clue what it was for.

Btw, isn't schlopp blocked this is a really weird way and his leg is along the ground

Bushiri connecting with him high isn't because rocky has a high follow through at all

It's a ridiculous check

It would have been looked at regardless.
