Looking at the league table tonight, noticed we have lost the least games outside of the bigot brothers with 8. We have however drawn 10 games which is the most in the division.
At the start of the season we were obviously chucking points away.
More recently I’d put it down to being too cautious at times. Lacking creativity. (No stats to back that up, just the way it feels).
Think this will cost us any chance of 3rd in the end.

Today definitely felt a bit like we were too cautious IMO. I know you’re not going to play nice football on that park but I never thought we showed enough intent or urgency throughout. We didn’t really commit enough bodies forward.
There are good draws and bad draws. Coming from two down against Rangers was a good one, the draw in Perth a bad one. Today probably sits somewhere in the middle of them.

Better than getting beat. Our start will probably ultimately cost us 3rd. Since then of course we pretty much needed to win every game to get back to where we wanted to be. We’ve given it a decent go so far so I think right now it is a bit churlish to be worrying too much about the difficult away games we’ve drawn instead of won. Not long ago a good number of people thought we would get relegated.

We are also improving at the moment, so our stats - at the moment - reflect a pretty crap start to our league season. How our form in the rest of the season goes will obviously determine the end result, but you have to account and acknowledge the movement in statistics too, if you want to use them to demonstrate anything, I would say.

Without even considering any stats, anyone can see we’re much improved on the first dozen games or so of the season. We didn’t play well today but we were strong defensively and stood up to their physicality. Basically, something we wouldn’t have done a few months ago.
Still disappointed with other things today. Not so much the quality because that can happen, more that I never really felt we had a proper go at any point. We seemed quite content with a point to me. With what has went before and a difficult few games coming up, I just felt we could have pushed a bit more today.

Just the word “stats” was mentioned, to be fair indirectly, in the original post .. and some stats given … hence I thought worth adding a note of caution … and I’m not a statistician btw lol .. I’m no that clever ..
.. there is obviously disappointment we didn’t come away with three points today .. but perhaps we are not giving St Mirren credit there … we aren’t celtic and we don’t expect to sweep teams aside as their fans do .. we are better than that .. I hope .. and accept it won’t always be as we want .. but … but .. we are improving, just now. It’s nice to enjoy that while it’s here 😊

And the pundits were saying on Sportsound today that Aberdeen have “returned to winning form” - it’s one game ffs!
I think Scottish football has lost its sense of perspective and it’s contagious - just think of where we’ve come.
