3 consecutive clean sheets for the first time since March 2022.
There’s massive room for improvement but there’s also a lot to enjoy right now. 6 goals conceded in the last 12 games if you disregard the old firm matches. The defence being solid for the first time in years in nice.

Rocky brilliant again and thought Smith done really well with the double save ..very good shot stopper .
Credit to the team today, earlier in season we would have lost after going down to 10.

Rocky and Smith deserve huge credit. Without them, we take nothing from that. But our performances need to pick back up, we're not going to draw our way to a 3rd place finish. We need to find a way of forcing the 3 points, regardless of the pitch, weather, ref.... etc.

After the first dreadful 14 games, Gray and the team have done exceptionally well.

Massive credit to everybody and it has to be remembered we still haven't had our injury woes to find even in that run. Ekpiteta, Newell, Youan and not forgetting we barely have a forward fit to play 90 minutes and haven't had practically all season.
We have a horrible run of 3 games coming up, games that are going to demand far better than we showed today. I only hope Iredale is ok, he would be a massive loss with 3 really tough games coming up.

Defence has been outstanding. Vs Aberdeen at Home was particular stand out for me so dominant. Even today first 15mins there were 2/3 big defensive headers getting vital touches. And the keeper pulling out big stops too.
There does need to be a little bit or remembering where we've came from earlier in the season - we are still a side on a run of form that started from bottom of the league. No doubt DG will have wanted to make us hard to beat and build from there and we are seeing that now - it might not always be pretty

12 games is a remarkable acheivement but I can't help feeling that form is starting to fizzle out a wee bit. No shots on target today against a team who just played 120 minutes, ultimately lost im the cup and had less recovery time before the game.
David Gray said they trained really well this week and made use of the extra time. What did they do exactly?
I understand why we never made many signings in January but this team really lools like one that needs freshened up especially in the forward areas.
Just don't want to see all the good work last 12 games go to waste.

Totally agree with this. We’ve had a fantastic run but our games v St Johnstone, Ayr and St Mirren we’ve created very little where our midfield has struggled. The pitches at Ayr and Paisley haven’t helped but we’re lacking a bit of quality and creativity from midfield. We just seem to resort to long balls hoofed up to the forwards.
Crying out for Newell and Youan to be back fit to give us more options.

From where we were in November we all should be pleased with this.
One word of caution though.....draws.
We have had 10 so far this season. 2 more than the next, Ross Co.
Our first target is top 6, then take it from there. But having so many draws has held us back big time. There are so many of these draws, Yam, Dundee, Dundee Utd all at home and St Johnstone, Killie, Ross Co away should all have been wins which would have put a whole different complexion on the league table.
Know we have managed to get draws against The Hun and Aberdeen late on, but the wins we have thrown away outweigh the draws gained.
Very frustrating.

Not to be sniffed at - St Mirren are no mugs. Gave the Jambos a close run for their money and I’m surprised they’ve not clicked a bit more. That’s the first time
theyve not beaten us this season Home & Away.

They should've been about three up at HT in the Hearts game. They just have **** strikers.
Had a look there at the home and away form guide. They're 8th at home and 7th away. So pretty much exactly where they should be in the league.
Kille are 4th at home and bottom away from home. No wonder they delayed installing a grass pitch. Gimps

Considering our position after 14 games the team have been brilliant turning things around. Remember the 'is relegation inevitable ' thread etc. I just feel that the bad start will ultimately stop us getting 3rd. Unless we can go ( unlikely) virtually unbeaten till the split , even a couple of defeats can be very damaging. Fingers crossed but too many draws will see us 4th/5th.

The recent form guide, ignoring Celgers, has us 2nd best equal performers with 10 points from the last 6 league games.
That's 2nd equal with Ross County and Kilmarnock. Hearts are the form team having taken 13 points.
That is down to us winning only 2 of those 6 games.
In essence we are not conceding goals away from home but not scoring much either which means lots of costly draws.
Hibs have had more league draws this season than any other team, a remarkable 10.
Team with second most draws is Ross Co with 8. Draws ruin your points total.
This damage is born out, given that Hibs are in 5th place yet have lost less league games this season than any club in the league outside of Celgers.
We have only lost 8 games out of 26. Next best are Dundee Utd who have lost 9.
Bloody draws!
P.S. I see Hibees 1973 making the same point about draws :aok:

How I see it as well. In terms of creating chances, we didn’t have too many against Aberdeen either (I know we won and did our job well but I felt we got them at a good time as well).
Thought today was pretty similar to the Ayr game, a lot of balls in to the channels and very little football played. Accept that the pitches don’t help but I still think we had to show a bit more. The plus side is that we are miles better defensively. And even though it was only 10 minutes or that we had to play with 10 men, compare that today to when we had 10 minutes or so up at Tannadice earlier in the season.
Don’t expect anything from Celtic but we need to pick up results in the games that follow.

Last sentence not to be sneezed at. We are missing our best midfielder and our most creative attacking one too in my opinion.
To be unbeaten for so long with the team we have been putting out is no mean feat.

If we beat Dundee Utd on Wednesday night we will match the 12 game unbeaten run we had under Lennon during the 2nd half of 2017/18 - 8 wins and 4 draws.
Similarly to that run, we were winning our home games and drawing our away games. I think if we win our 3 remaining home games and draw on Wednesday plus one of our other away games we will be 3rd going into the split.

Just imagine we'd not had a terrible start......
We've accrued 2.2 points per game over this unbeaten run, if we'd averaged even 2 per game over the course of the season we'd be on 54 points - 2 behind der Hun.
Obviously thats pie in the sky stuff but even allowing for a few defeats we'd still be in front of Aberdeen if it wasn't for the terrible run at the start of the season.

Yes, it looks like14 games unbeaten at the start of the 78-79 season between 12th august and 11 October.but im relying on wiki.
The run includes 2 early round league cup games against Brechin and another 2 against clydebank (league cup were two legs in those days clearly), and 2 ties agsinst Norrkoppping of Sweden. We then lost 2-1 to Partick in the league to break the run. So id say the current run is actually more impressive already!

The scoreline makes it seem a lot more emphatic than it was. Rode our luck and then some good positive substitutions by SDG helped us get the 2nd goal and 3rd was a last kick of the game breakaway when Utd had everyone forward.
