Watched the Motherwell game today and there was no sign of him.playing or even making the Bench
Shows how badly we were sold a pup when he came to ER .
Don't like to denigrate any Hibs player but Scottish footballs not for him
Has he another season or has his time run out

Has he another season or has his time run outYou reckon Scottish football`s not for him but Motherwell chose to sign him after seeing him play for us . Not surprised Motherwell wanted him as he was easily the best player on the pitch in the 2 v 2 draw at Holy Ground in January 2024 when Well visited us . I actually rate him , one of the few players we have who has a bit of skill and tries something different if given freedom to do so and at an age to still offer us a lot in coming years .

I still remember when Hibs played Dunbar in pre-season. I had had maybe a couple.. or a few pints beforehand and spent the game really enthusiastically cheering on Tavares because we had spent pre match talking about what a poor signing he had been.

Anyway the game passed him by, when he got subbed off he had to walk round the edge of the pitch to get to the changing rooms and walked right past me. I said “Well played Jair!!” In my head it was sarcastic to get a laugh but it maybe didn’t sound sarcastic, he looked right at me. Smiled and said “Thank you” and at that point I realised what a dick I was being.

Sometimes when we are away up in a stand it’s easy to forget footballers are human.

I hope he finds a club that suits him.

I can’t even remember what this thread is about, but it’s a story I just remembered when I seen his name.

Should never have been given the No.10 jersey. Too much pressure on a guy who clearly wasn't good enough.

Highlight was that goal against Ross County and the display away to Dundee. It convinced me he's got something. But doesn't show it often enough.

No offence to Tavares at all but for me he was the prime example of the hibs recruitment team being there poorest

Massive hype, number 10 shirt, 5 year deal

Probably not started more than 20 games for hibs

We all seen pretty early on he was not good enough so god knows what scouting efforts went in to that.

Very poor, if we can move him on and get a percentage sell on or something I think we’re best to cut our losses.

When the talk was Ian Gordon playing Football Manager with the recruitment, this signing was a perfect example of that.

Hasn’t worked out but I don’t think it was a bad idea. He was a highly rated, skilful winger and Portuguese players haven’t particularly had an issue settling in UK football. Don’t think he has been helped by having different coaching teams with different ideas.

The sort of signing that can add to what you’ve got and might work out but perhaps we’ve just had a few too many of these recently.

Yeah he's not going to make it as a Hibs player and I can't see him making it in Scotland or England if I'm honest.
Works hard, got a bit of pace and a bit of skill but just way too lightweight for British football. Not even sure he'd have the physicality to compete in most other European leagues if I'm honest.
Maybe a career in futsal or doing Instagram freestyling reels might suit him better?

Heard he is on £5,000 a week.
On a 4 year deal which works out at £1,040,000 he has taken in wages from the club. I expect Kenneh will be roughly the same. Over £2m.

Know both are out on loan, but I bet Motherwell & Ross Co are only paying a tiny fraction of this.

Ian Gordon has said his family will continue to support Hibs and plug the financial holes.

Too bloody right they should.

Nah. No danger either will be close to that.

All the above said, he can still lay claim to literally the best first touch in a Hibs strip in our history. Came on as sub in a League Cup game at ER for his debut and as the ball was played to him, he dug his foot under the ball and clipped it over an oncoming opponent and trapped the ball dead. Outstanding.

These figures are very close to being accurate.

I know Kenneh was offered a one year contract at Leeds but chose to leave, so would have thought that figure would definitely be ball park for what he was giving up.
