I hadn’t seen any pictures of Conrad Logan when he signed, and when he ran out for the warm up in the semi final there was a lot of confusion with many simply not believing that this was the stand in keeper!
His heroics in that semi took the heat off Cummings following his “panenka” fail. Actually thought he was going to try it again in the shootout.
Conrad Logan was almost wholly responsible for giving us the opportunity to play in the final.

The best thing about the shootout was the Japanese goalie was also convinced Cummings was gonna do it again so he just stood waiting to catch it [emoji23]

Like you say, he absolutely facilitated one of the most famous moments in our club's history. Absolute legend.

Can’t remember another time a Hibs goalie has had a standing ovation mid game. Made 2-3 one on one saves in the first half
The contrast in how people were laughing at him at the start of the game (one guy near me remarked we'd signed an 'obese Kasper Schmeichel') to singing his name at the end really was something.
Without Mark Oxley getting booked for losing a contact lens the previous round would likely never have signed him! Football does throw up the most crazy stories.

The Polar Bear was the dictionary definition of a cult hero.
As others have said above that wasn't quite how I expected things to turn out when I first saw him on that Hampden pitch.
Along with Andy Goram at Tynecastle without doubt one of the greatest goalkeeping performances I have ever had the privilege to witness particularly given his level of fitness.
PS. If it hadn't been for Goram in that other game we would no longer be able to bring up 0-7.

Our 2016 cup run would make a spectacular movie.

My memory was when he ran out for warm up and it was assumed it was some 'Fan in the kit' Scottish Cup experience type things .... the reality dawned he was THE goalie for the day and some were seriously considering just going back to the pub at that point.
you know those 'where are they now' stories and pictures when a previous player who was fit and ripped has let them self go to the point they are unrecognizable ...
Would love to one day find out that he was the reverse story with pictures to match :greengrin

While the semi was his first game, he took part in the warm up away at St Mirren a week or two before in a 2.2 draw. I remember standing behind the goals thinking my view was obstructed by his arse!
