Dundee Utd have released a statement calling for a reform to VAR - https://x.com/dundeeunitedfc/status/1887169314676957523?s=46
Amazed it’s taken this long for someone to take formal action, was hoping it would be us due to the amount of utter shaftings we’ve had at the hands of inept officials in Scotland.

Goodwin got a cheek never heard him moaning when they got the non penalty at Easter road

The best time to call for reform is when the system favoured you

I can’t make sense of it - reads like they’re not happy that the panel that review decisions said they were lucky to get some calls and have taken the huff. The panel that had no referees on it and have no authority and are not VAR.

It’s a bit of a jumbled nonsense but I think your point about the panel is their point…seems they think it’s a rather random collection of folk who are rather randomly assessing the decisions, with the outcomes being inconsistent.
They may have a point but it’s hardly the most pertinent point.
Surely the correct and timely application of the VAR protocol and looking to make the decisions made substantially better is more to the point rather than some second hand, after the even review panel!

We'll be next in line following tomorrows game against the "inept" Clancy.

If he's the ref tomorrow night, get your money on Ayr being given a penalty.

No VAR to correct incorrect referee calls tomorrow.

He'll be looking to correct the 3 decisions that went against him in our previous game. A disallowed Hibs goal, a joke penalty for Ayr and a Hibs sending off for a routine tackle. It's a free money accumulator.

The irony of them girning about var. one game their keeper should have been sent off plus they have been given 3 or 4 really soft pens including against us

That is worrying with that clown. His var performance on Saturday was shambolic

They had an incredible run of poor referring decision go for them and now they’re complaining about a panel that have no jurisdiction? Makes no sense.

We should have complained about it last season after a huge list and 18 months worth of utterly ridiculous decisions going against us. Dundee United game apart, I feel it has been much fairer to us this season .
The problem with VAR is that ultimately many of the decisions being taken using it are still based on interpretation and opinion. So it doesn't always solve the problem it was intended to.

Indeed. A system that's meant to bring clarity, objectivity and fairness to the game has frankly done the opposite. Nothing to do with the system, and everything to do with the incompetent / cheating nonces who use it.

I'm all for getting rid of it, way more cons than pros for me, delayed celebrations, games going on way longer, seems to be way more controversy now with it, than there was without it.

What were the three things? He corrected the mistake made on the field that called our goal offside.

Surely he was correct in changing the offside goal decision.

Assuming the Penalty he was trying to give and trying to find a red card for Bowie winning the ball

Was fuming about it at the game on Saturday but mellowed out a bit now. He corrected the on-field offside decision, the “hand ball” is dubious still, and the red card check, well it was an aggressive tackle and it was a very quick check probably just to make sure their was nothing else in it.

The onfield offside was factual. There was no contact with the hand yet he was pushing for the pen only Don decided he was talking nonsense.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone delay a celebration. Certainly didn’t see that on Boxing Day.

Maybe it's myself then, I definitely do feel a difference in my celebrations since VAR was introduced, a lot more muted, automatically think what went on in the run up to it.

It’s not just you. If a goal goes in that you’re maybe not sure about it does change the way you react IMO. Not all the time, there are times where it never even enters my head that there could be something wrong.

Stevie Robinson made a decent point, making referees full time should improve decisions. if some one is doing a job more often they should become better at it.
Referees chopping and changing from being on pitch and then in the VAR van is not ideal. making it like the NFL where all decisions are made in the one place by the same team would cut down inconsistencies, having an independent panel from out with Scotland would also help cut out team loyalties that currently exist.
