Sorry to hear that. Was the third keeper I saw wear the number one for Hibs and wore it well. Willie Wilson and Thomson Allan preceded him. All good keepers, although Willie Wilson did throw three in, late on, v Celtic on one occasion.
Young Gordon played at Dundee when my son was there and he had great respect for him.

RIP Gordon Marshall. In goals versus Hearts my first game in 1970 - and therefor the best keeper in the world. Condolences to the family.

Roy Baines as well.

Yeah, Hibs went from 2-1 up to lose 5-2!

He was a very decent keeper and played in Willie Mac's side that had started that season so well. Bad timing, I think it kicked off with a 0-3 loss at Ayr, then Tom McNiven inspired the recovery as interim manager before Willie's appointment and by October, we had won at Parkhead, Tynie & Ibrox, 1-2, 0-2 & 1-3.

Condolences to the family. I particularly remember his performance in the NY derby in the wake of Peter Marinello's transfer to Arsenal. Peter Cormack, feeling frustrated that his pal went south, when he had been promised a move, lashed out at the treatment he was getting from Peter Oliver and he was sent off. Both big Gordon and Hearts great, Jim Cruickshank were in cracking form that day and the game ended goalless.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Gordon Marshall, a fine keeper, who I can remember playing against us for hearts.
Spoke to him after a game as he was leaving the FF stand several years - very pleasant guy to talk to.

RIP Gordon
