Think this was covered in a BBC bias thread a while back?
It's far from the most important thing obviously, but did strike me as an odd image to use - you don't usually see something that pins a criminal so blatantly to a certain identity.

Nothing to see here there are evil people who support football teams. The West Calder incident first picture showed the Father in a Rangers top.

I seem to remember a discussion about this (or another case where the same thing happened) and they basically just pulled a picture off Facebook. A lot of journalism is just trawling social media these days unfortunately.

Pretty much guaranteed that both guys are going to post themselves wearing their team's strip or in the case of the guy with the car standing next to the Scottish Cup.
Agree "nothing to see"

To be fair the poor wee lass and her father that passed in Fife in tragic circumstances did have him in a Rangers top. RIP.

That's true. The whole photo thing is irrelevant.

C’mon PH. There are some subjects that maybe shouldn’t be given the light hearted treatment. Would you consider pulling this one?

Wow.
How do you manage to turn a story about attempted murder into one about bias against Hibs?
What football team someone supports pales in insignificance when compared with a crime like this.
It doesn't matter what he is wearing! I wouldn't expect any news agency to worry about whether he is wearing a football top because some football fans might get their knickers in a twist.

...it's an interesting question, but really needs to be directed at someone at the BBC. Someone there chose to use a photo that couldn't have more strongly associated the criminal with a completely unrelated and irrelevant business in relation to to the story. Why they decided to do that only they will know. It's obviously unusual.

It says "Police Scotland" on the photo on the BBC website, which suggests that the photo was supplied by the police.
In any case, it's irrelevant as the facts that she lived and that he was caught are what's important here.

Eh?
Nobody beyond this people on this board would give that a second thought.
I think it is crazy that people can be so insular to think anything else.
The rest of the population doesn't care anywhere near as much about Hibs as we do.
This is honestly conspiracy level narcissim stuff here to think otherwise.
Someone nearly lost their life, and you are worried about a photo they picked?

It’s really not unusual. Loads of criminals are pictured in football clothes.
