Inspired by the mention of Jonathan Spector’s solitary appearance on the Best Debuts thread, which players had really notable final games for Hibs?

2016 Cup Winners Conrad Logan & Niklas Gunnarsson the obvious ones.

Scott Brown with his magnificent 20 yard diving
header.

Paul and Lewis' last game was a good one, particularly Paul's last ditch tackle just before he was subbed. Great moment.

What was John Mcginn's last game, Asteras away?

Didn't they both play a few days later in the draw against Livingston?

Paul did, Lewis didn’t.

Not best final game but one I remember was a 3-2 defeat at home to Partick at the end of 2002-03. Matty Jack scored and it was his last game. Looked like he started a lap of honour but couldn't hold it together and ran back into the tunnel in tears. It was also Janos Matyus' last game after a less notable spell and it was him that did the lap of honour, signing programmes and shaking hands all around the ground.

Scott Brown with his magnificent 20 yard diving
header. He was amazing that game. What a player he was driving at defences before Celtc changed him. We will never know what he could have become as the type of player he was is far rarer than the type he became

Juha Riippa‘s first and last game was at Tynecastle in 1996 (November, I recall) - Jocky Scott being pretty bold in throwing a trialist into the caldron of an Edinburgh Derby. Did a pretty decent job, and it was a shame he didn’t at least earn a short term contact.

James Scott - scored a hat-trick in his last 45 minutes of football for us. Had been rotten til then.

Based on Wikipedia's stats, he scored 16% of his career goals in that one half of football. From 140 appearances.

Darren Jackson in the play-off v Airdrie. Delayed the inevitable by 1 season, but at least he ended a memorable Hibs career on a high. Also remember our supporters' bus waving to Jim Leighton, that night, as he stood outside the main stand, knowing he was off to Aberdeen.

:agree:

Tension that night was unreal in Cumbernauld within minutes Airdrieonians had squared the tie on aggregate

I looked behind me and there sat Joe Baker Pat Stanton and Lawrie Reilly to show the importance of that game to the club

Darren Jackson grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and refused to accept defeat a fantastic player for us with a great attitude Jim Leighton as well totally outstanding never say die

Unfortunately the inevitable was only delayed

George Best's last game for us in the old 1st Division.

Was determined to score, including hitting the bar from around the halfway line, but wasn't to be. If that attempt had gone in it would have brought the house down.

Think they missed a penalty at 1-1 if memory serves me right.
Was the Final Fraser Fyvies last game for us 🤔
